Hi,
I would like to also ask about IBDP tuition for HL Math and Chemistry. Appreciate some good recommendations.

RE: Third languages
Hihi,
can I ask which is a better language to pick up from scoring a 7 point of view? Malay, spanish or French?
We have done Hindi in school as 2nd language too.
Thanks -
RE: All About A Levels
Hi,
I would like to ask if it is necessary to have a H3 subject for getting a government scholarships for A levels?
And if someone is a straight 4A’s for A level, what is the role of a good portfolio in getting a scholarship?
Thanks for this information - apologies if this was stated earlier and I missed it. -
RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)
Hihi,
Can I ask some questions please -
1) if a child has been awarded an ESIS scholarship - I understand that there is a minimum grade requirement to continue to receive the same. For RI, what is this grade cut - off.
2) if we can understand for local unis - School of medicine, do they favour RI students? Or if anyone can share where I can find the stats on the % of intakes from Raffles for NUS/NTU.
Thanks so much -
RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)
Hi all,
My son got an AL5 this year.
I am also on the lookout for parents that hve kids in both RI and ACS I as I need the information to make a call…
My older one is in ACS (I) and doing IB…But now younger one wants to go RI>
Q1 - Any parents that have kids in both schools? I know that has low chances - but then -
Q2 - for those parents here who had kids in RI who entered not with the best score like AL4 - how are they able to cope in this school?
My older one is in ACS (Ind) and he chose that school. My younger one now wants to join RI. I am a bit reluctant as I will have kids in two different streams - like A level and IB.
Can I ask about the culture in RI - understand its IP so there will be projects - so are these also weighted like in ACS or in RI for 100% is based on the year end exams?
Also any other sharing on how tough it get academically as compared to other schools like VS and ACS (I) for boys?
Does it mean that RI kids will have to always face cut-throat competition and keep attending enrichment to keep up?
Also, unlike ACS (Independent) RI has one CCA policy- is that correct?
Thanks for any insights, in advance.
Thanks so so much! -
RE: How to select schools during S1 posting?
Hi dear,
Thanks it was received - just found out. I am also on the lookout for parents that hve kids in both RI and ACS I as I need the information to make a call…

Firstly I dont want to take any risk - hope he can get into RI and if there is any chance of balloting at AL5 - I dont want to take that risk.
Q2 - Do you think there is a chance that will happen? ie Ballot at AL5 level? If it does will my son still stand a chance to get into ACS Independent due to his high score?
Thanks so so much! -

RE: How to select schools during S1 posting?
Hi,
My son has gotten AL 5 and we are thinking of applying to Raffles. Any parents here from last year can share whether there was balloting for AL6 or maybe even AL5 considering Raffles is a very popular school.
My second choice is ACS Independent where my older one is currently studying
Thanks so much,
