It’s first day of school for my Sec 1 DD tomorrow and I’m pretty excited.

just wondering, is there anyone here who know of girls taking higher mother tongue outside school (Malay or Tamil)?

I’d like to know if it’s crazy for the girls to cope doing HMT outside school plus CCA. But I really like the ij culture so my DD & I decided to make IJ our first choice despite having to do HMT outside school hours. Hopefully any info will come in handy before CCA selection this friday.

Also, how much to give for pocket money? I forgot to take a look at the canteen food prices.

I'm thinking of enrolling my son in SGPS. He's born in 2011 so will be in P1 in 2018, registering next yr.

Was wondering if it is better if I register to be a parent volunteer there in the meantime. I'm staying in AMK so it's >2km. Anyone did PV at SGPS before? What do PVs do there? or did I miss the cut-off date for PV alr?

Can't remember the date - maybe it's nearer the end of term. but as for topics, there was a 3 page info sheet on what was taught for term 1, asking kids to revise them. term 1 alr 3 pages, more to come in other terms! :faint:
not sure what will be tested but i hope we get sample papers a few weeks before the test.

thanks for all your replies about dance. sounds overwhelming for me. right now my dd is having ballet classes in school but i think i'll stop ballet if she goes into dance. thank god no remedial but kena call from teacher that her maths needs improvement or else thur aft is gone for remedial dd is taking the school bus now but yes, i worry abt transport on fri too, plus gotta ferry my infant and K1 girl from childcare ard that time.


Last year i bought too many assessment books till cannot finish. this year have a few to start off, maybe will buy more in semester 2.

This is my first posting here. I have a question. My dd was invited to join dance (niche cca in the sch) as her cca. she’s in P2. how’s the cca like if anyone has dd (or know of any kiddos) in that cca? tough or not? many practices? so far it’s on fri. but if she has to stay on till p6, i dunno if practices will increase and then once she’s in, it’s not easy to get out. any info will be appreciated. thanks!
