RE: Frontier Primary
Anyone knows how much does the schoolbus transport cost? I am within 1km from the school.

RE: [Jurong West] Primary Schools
Better don't do that cos you are giving up an already secured place in JWPS and trying your luck for WGPR that qms mentioned is a popular school in Jurong West Ext that requires balloting even for those staying within 1km.
What you can do is to monitor the registration daily and weight your chances accordingly.bingjun.g:
Registered my girl in 2B at JWPS, wondering whether I should withdraw it and try luck in the 2C of WGPR? Any one can help to compare these two schools?
WGPR has been more popular than JWPS, right? Since they still have quite a lot seats for 2C, shall I give up JWPS to try WGPR? Headache now... :scratchhead: -
RE: [Jurong West] Primary Schools
There are a number of reasons why JWPS balance figure looks smaller this year.
JWPS only has 240 places as compared to last year which was 270. MOE could have deliberately done so after knowing how many potential registrations are coming from this area and also there are new schools like Westwood Pri having their first registration.
Also I guess last year JWPS produced good results for their PSLE.
Lastly as compared to new schools like Frontier or Westwood Pri around the vicinity that have not been ‘tested’ many would feel that JWPS is a safer bet. -
RE: [Jurong West] Primary Schools
Had visited the open house for Frontier and Jurong West Primary.
This information are for those parents who are looking for schools with before/after school care service.
Both schools provides before/after school care services. However, I believe the seats available are very limited.
Frontier Primary have 50 available places of which 20 are reserved for their current Primary 1 cohort. 15 places will be available for next year (2013) primary one student and 15 places for 2014 primary one students. If application surpasses the available allocated seats. Special needs students will be given the priority on a case by case basis following that balloting will be conducted for the remaining places available.
Jurong West Primary before/after school care service will be available next year 2013. It will be located at the first floor of the extension building which is currently under construction. Available places are 80. There isn’t much information available as they had not even called the tender for the private run service.
Lastly, as Westwood Primary is a new school that is ready for it’s first batch of Primary one students next year I believe it will also have the before/after school care service. Their soft launch will be held in Gek Poh Community Center on 19-Jun.
