Just to share, my girl attended Semipi for about 6mths when she was 3and 1/2. She was doing fine (not excellent) and I found the young teacher could not really engage the kids. So I withdrew her and engaged another teacher who was leaving the school at the same time to give her one to one at home ( I knew her thru the make up class in Semipi and found her teaching is very lively). She is doing much better and progress much more comparing to group lesson. The teacher has quite rich experiences, she has been teaching in different well known music schools, and is able to engage young kids effectively. To me, she makes music fun for my daughter, she plays games to help her learn and cultivate her interest on music. From my experience, if you could get a good teacher, it is better to go for private lesson, same time save money, and the result is obvious.

Hi, parents, my girl is going to P1 in 2011, I am considering Red Swastika, just realized it is SAP school after browsing the forum. Could anyone share their view about this school, I don’t worry about higher Chinese (she just need to cope with it, we are Chinese anyway), but more to the academic and teacher quality of the school in all aspect and also to the fact that there are no or minimum number of kids from other races, will that post a potential problem for kids to interact with other races or accept cultural difference in future? I was accepted as PV for Red Swastika, but nothing being assigned yet, does any parents know what kind of duties the school allocate normally, will they allocate at least 40 hours before next years registration?

Besides Red Swastika, I am also looking at Temasek Primary, not sure which one is a better school to go to. Appreciate if you could share your experiences with these two schools. Thanks

Hi Experienced mums and dads


I have submitted the forms to 3 schools, Red sawstika, Tamasek Pri and Ngnee Ann (a bit Kiasu i must admit), none of them called and I have tried to make enquiry, their reply is wait for the call… I stay 1.3 km to Temasek, around 2-3km to both NgneeAnn and Red swastika, could anyone share your experience with these 3 schools? There is no any pri school withing 1Km to hour address. Mypreference is Red swastika because I had a very good feeling when i visited the school to submit the form(the P1 kids were very happy in the school, as least from their look) unlike some kids i met in the general office, looked scared and the admin or teacher actually using high pitch while talking to them.
