    • RE: Recommended Math Tuition Centre

I have been hiring private 1-1 tutor usually and will like to recommend my son’s maths tutor Joe. He’s a patient and wonderful maths tutor (also a former NUS comp sci grad) who specializes in secondary and JC Maths. Secondary school is definitely a whole new challenge for my son even though he got A* in his PSLE. He was taken aback by the level of maths in his secondary school. Thus he did not do really well in his few CA. After engaging Joe, i feel that he is back on track, and was a big relief for me. Thus will like to recommend him as a patient and responsible tutor who was also able to share the challenges of secondary life with my son. Just FYI he usually teaches at his place so if you are interested you can whatsapp him at 9154 8153 to know more about his rates and schedule. Have a wonderful week ahead all!

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Science

PSLE results are out and I am so elated about my son Ian, especially his science that I have to post it here. I came with my family from overseas after my husband moved here for work a few years ago, and it was a real struggle getting my son to cope with school in Singapore. Ian did especially badly for his science as he did not have a clue at school! Trying tuition centers and tutors who are science grads, to chemical engineers who teach part-time did not help my son. But I was introduced to my science tutor Mr Cheah by a friend of mine. It was indeed a blessing, as my son's result has slowly improved as he moved up the levels. From a failure to a consistent high 70s to mostly 80s in Primary 6. Mr Cheah did tell me that my son should be able to get an 'A' for science, and will need to work hard other than following his teaching methodology to get something better. GUESS WHAT..... :rahrah: :boogie:

I will really want to thank Mr Cheah for helping my son out despite all the difficulties. He has even advised Ian on aspects beyond science in primary school like the Singapore primary school education system (He was a former primary school science teacher who came out to teach tuition). With his advice and also his mentoring of Ian, I became a proud mother today. So Mr Cheah, I just want to say my thanks here on the forum, and for anyone out there who needs a science tutor, please do contact Mr Cheah @ 81393075.
