Ok that's great, thanks for confirming!
Yes, the EMA is given to students who don’t qualify for EMB due to income eligibility.
-

Hi Zeal Mummy,
Hi MBurg, I think you were referring to the MOE website. Please allow me to do a little bit of editing.
For Primary 1 and 2:
- Student displays positive learning dispositions with good conduct and meets the income eligibility, he will receive the Edusave Merit Bursary ($200),
- if income eligibility is not met, student will receive the Edusave Certificate of Learning Achievement instead (gets book voucher at CC, no monetary award).
For Primary 3 to 6:
- if student is within top 25% of his school's cohort with good conduct and meets the income eligibility, he will receive the Edusave Merit Bursary ($250),
- if income eligibility is not met, student will receive the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement instead (gets book voucher from CC, no monetary award).
- Student must not be a recipient of the Edusave Scholarship.
For Primary 5 to 6:
- student is within top 10% of his school's cohort with good conduct, he will receive the Edusave Scholarship ($350)
- there is no income eligibility.
- not eligible for EMB/EMA
https://www.moe.gov.sg/financial-matters/awards-scholarships/edusave-awards
CCC-CDC Education Merit Award EMA consists of book vouchers typically from popular bookstore, ranging from $80 to $100. They are given out at the CC by respective GRCs, when students do not qualify for the EMB due to income eligibility.
thanks for the help with the polished editing! The thing though is I'm not sure if the CCC-CDC EMA award is given out by default to those who don't qualify for the EMB, or it's given to everyone who is top 25%. That's why my initial summary was in that awkward fashion. If someone can confirm this it will be awesome. -

That is exactly what I have deduced too. Well done for summarising it here for future ref.
Thanks, hope it helps other parents who may be confused by all these terms haha! -

If its a $80 Popular Book voucher - it's likely to be the CDC-CCC EMA (Community Development Council - Citizens' Consultative Committees Education Merit Award)
What about the $80 that some kids get? Which category is that?
If its a cash or paynow transfer I'm not sure what category that is, unless you have more details of the award itself. -

I was also really confused as the MOH website doesn't talk about the Edusave Cert of Academic Achievement. Looking up at this forum and the replies, this is my summary (do correct me if there are any mistakes!)
Is the certificate of academic achievement related to edusave award? We received the letter for edusave bursary but as we do not meet the income criteria we did not submit the form back to cc. Any idea what usually happens next?
For Primary 1 and 2:
- if the child has positive learning dispositions and has good conduct, he or she will receive the Edusave Merit Bursary ($200),
- if he exceeds the income criteria, he will receive the Edusave Certificate of Learning Achievement instead (No monetary award).
For Primary 3 to 6:
- if the child is within top 25% of their school's level and has good conduct, he or she will receive the Edusave Merit Bursary ($250),
- if he exceeds the income criteria, he will receive the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement instead (No monetary award).
- He or she must not be a recipient of the Edusave Scholarship (see below).
For Primary 5 to 6:
- if the child is within top 10% of their school's level and has good conduct, he will receive the Edusave Scholarship ($350)
https://www.moe.gov.sg/financial-matters/awards-scholarships/edusave-awards
Also, to make things more confusing, the following award is not given out by MOE, but by GRCs.
CCC-CDC Education Merit Award is given out by individual GRCs, for the top 25% of the child's school cohort
Awards : Popular Book Vouchers between $80 to $100 -

From the list I like Palm View due to its relatively new school building / facilities. However as there is a large development announced nearby I'm concerned about dust and noise issues from the construction. There should most likely be a sound / dust barrier erected before construction begins, which should make it less of an issue.
Dear all kiasuparents users,
any recommended school in Sengkang for phase 2C supplementary? Currently left the following school for P2CS:
- Sengkang Primary - 52 students registered
- Northspring Primary - 56 students registered
- North Vista - 56 students registered
- Palm View - 97 students registered
- Anchor Green - 66 students registered
We are staying in Compassvale road and we just informed by MOE today that my kid’s P1 registration is unsuccessful. So just want to check with all the kiasuparents users to see the above primary school which is the best option.
Another important factor is your distance to the schools. Every 5 minutes saved is 5 extra minutes of sleep/ breakfast time every day. -
RE: 2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
Yes the SMS for us came at 8.04am on the day of announcement. Don’t be too worried if it doesn’t come exactly at 8.00am sharp.
Hope this helps.
