      Hi Mummies

We too didn't manage to get into Pasir Ris Pri. After comtemplating between Casuarina and Loyang, decided to settle for Loyang. Indeed the school environment is pleasant (at least the guard was so cheerful as compared to..) when we went down to register.See you around during orientation in Nov.

To all mummies and daddies, good luck! At least for now, I can finally relax 🙂

Looking forward to getting to know all the Loyang mummies & daddies as well.

Anyone planning to join the Parent support group at LPS (PIE- parent in education)?

      Hi Meeko

Great! Hope we can get in touch with all the mothers with child in P1 @ Loyang Primary School next year.

      😄

      That would be great! 🙂

After disappointed and frustrated of not getting a slot in Pasir Ris Primary School (balotting exercise), we have decided to register our girl in Loyang primary, since has a lot of slots available. Any mummies who will have their kids in Loyang Primary Next year?

Sorry to hear that you didn't get into your first choice of school. My son will be in Loyang Primary next year too. We gave up WSPS quite happily to register at LPS as, after visiting and comparing a few schools, my hubby, son and myself found that we really liked the environment at LPS a lot more than the other more popular schools. Looking forward to getting to know you and the other LPS mummies! 🙂

Yes, the Principal was formerly HOD / GEP and VP of RGPS. You may want to refer to the school's Facebook page to 'experience' the vibrancy of the school. Today, the school had their Hari Raya celebration and the Principal gave a welcome address in Malay! What a sporty lady! The atmosphere was really fantastic![/quote]

That sounds fantastic. Good to hear that we were not too far off in our assessment of this \"dark horse\" 🙂 We're really looking forward to being part of such a vibrant school!

Not sure if it’s true, but the lady principal of Loyang was previously from RGPS? Noticed that from the security guard to the kids and kids’ parents, everyone there seemed to love the school. Must say that school spirit there is strong.

I’m sure the more popular schools like pasir ris and WSPS must be "hot" for a good reason, but I think that aside from reputation, the actual "feel" of the school is important too. I think we fell within the 1-2km radius for Loyang. But since the whole family felt the same and my kid had his heart set on LPS, we would’ve fought to get in anyway. Ironically, it’s a lucky thing it seems to be one of the less popular ones. Lol.

      Hi! Just my 2 cents.

Am a mummy with a kid going into P1 next year. We stay within 1km of White Sands Pri, so that was, naturally, the first school we registered with. As we are SCs, plus stay within the 1km dist, i figured that we had a strong chance of getting in. As fate/ luck would have it, I brought my kid to Loyang pri and park view pri to consider as back up options should balloting at WSPS be unsuccessful, and my kid fell in love with Loyang. Refused to even give WSPS a look after. So we decided to withdraw from WSPS. Heard that quite a few parents withdrew or were asked to drop out cos they were out of the 1km zone.

In any case, I agree with my kid’s insistence on LPS. the school has a much better vibe and seemed a happier place for kids somehow. Much brighter and cleaner too. I hear that academic wise they are actually on par with the other schools as well. Not sure why some parents seem to think otherwise.

To all the mummies and daddies, all the best! May your kids pick the best schools for them!
