Very very very good advice. Please please please parents. Cannot stress this enough. Protect your kids' hearing from a young age. Even while at loud concert/venues/air shows.

I'm a percussionist, handbell ringer & educator.

I reckon choosing a piano depends a lot of the style of music you play and it will affect the amount of $ you spend.


I'm a composer or ambient minimalistic piano music and I find myself more inspired by/speaking to a piano with character (sometimes even old and vintage pianos) than a new and modern model.

However, being classically trained, I own a YUS5 and if you are pursuing classical piano, as already discussed here about the weight of keys, hammer, soundboard etc., those are important elements for a classical pianist.
