To begin with, never have balloting for those applies under 2B for scgs. It has never been a problem for phrase 2B! All got in all this while. I'd say the new ruling has no impact at all for those applies under phrase 2B! :imcool:

      Beansprout:
Believe the new ruling does not help much for parents who apply under Phase2B because SCGS has minimal PVs and GRLs are mainly Singaporeans. Correct?

I'm very positive about your chance to get in. Last year, there is no balloting and all applicants who stay within 1km were managed to get in n I believed many of them are PR.

With new rules for absolute priority for SC over PRs, you stand a better chance than last year.

      Good luck!

If your girl is Singaporean, then the chance is very high this year with new rules for absolute priority for Singapore over PRs.
Hi both

Tq for you advice. The other Sch within 1-2km are all boy's schools, tough luck! St marg n RV are both slightly out of 2km. yikes looks like I have to pray really hard that my girl will get into SCGS through Phase 2c!

Yes Melodies I was v happy when I read the news about SC having absolute priority over PRs. I believe there are many PRs living within 1 km from SCGS but who knows?? In any case I have done my best by moving to within 1 km!
• RE: 2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

I think most PRs will be push to phase 3 instead of having chance of balloting in phrase 2B/3C for popular school.

      phtthp:
in short, fellow SG citizens (SC) compete amongst ourselves first, based on distance.
Less than 1 km enter first, followed by less than 2 km, lastly greater than 2km then can enter.

likewise, PRs has to queue behind after the very last SG citizen child has entered successfully.
PRs then compete amongst themselves, based on distance.

      Hi Jo Focus,

Care to share your self study program? which areas did you focus?

      Thanks!

      Regards,

      Jo Focus:
I have a pretty bad experience with Mind Stretcher. They are quite arrogant. last year I tried to sign up the Mind Stretcher High Ability Class for English since my daughter was overall top in her class in P2. Unfortunately, after the test they conducted, my daughter was not eligible to take their class. Anyway, we decided to have self study program for my daughter and she got into GEP. I guess we DO NOT need Mindstretcher to insult the ability of our child !

I have no doubt scgs is a good school. I only wish it offers a thru-train system. It lost many of its top primary students last year

Thanks to all for your suggestion on how to get the name tag onto the pinafore 😄

btw today my girl is going for the P1 vaccination, think there are 2 jabs required.....hoping she will be fine....Based on past experience, she typically became cranky and developed slight fever after vaccination..... 🙏
