Woodlands have many places to learn, most of the CCs will have just have to find one that is near you.
Ace the place, Galaxy and even woodsgrove condo also have.Semabawang have JH kim, just across from the MRT.

any review on JH kim woodgrove and sembawang classes ?

Honestly I don't know, depends on what you are hoping your child to do.Recreational or competitive, if recreational then not much diff find some place near can liao.If competitive then you have to travel somewhat.
But my suggestion is to arrange for trial classes and see if your child likes it or not.
went for a trial and he likes it. have already sign him up for cc one just beside where i stay for convenience. mostly are kids. will be so weird for me to sign up and go together with him. and also children and adult class learn different things too
Go to page 12 to understand the diff between WTF and ITF. Age is not a factor, I have seen 50 year old plus adults learning from scratch. I myself started at 39 at WTF with my children, I stopped at 42 while they move on to ITF. Personal thoughts between the 2 schools; competitions/dsa/medals is WTF, practical/bully proof/self defence which may turn into street fights is ITF.

when you started at 39yo, your classes are all adult around your age too started learning ?

The class is mixed from sec 4s, JCs, NSF, NS regular, 30 plus like me and 50 plus. Among them, there are guy and girl buddies, fathers and sons, and solo too.
Okay, mind to share which school did sign up when you stated at 39 ?

just curious any parents here learning with their kids ? is it effective for adults to learn at the age now ?

There is no age limitation for TKD. If you plan to be a 9 dan Black Belter, you really need to start young.

From White to Black Belt, if you clear it every 3 months, you need 2.5 years to reach Black. The long march start after your Black Belt 1st dan. You need to wait for 1 year to go for 2 dan, wait for 2 years to go for 3 dan, wait for 3 years to go for 4 dan and so on.

If you start at 40yo, you will get your black belt around 2.5 years (around 43yo). If you work hard, you will get your 9 dan at 79yo. The only challenge for adults is we are less flexible and recover slower. Therefore, we need to work even harder compare to kids, teens, or young adult.

BTW, I am 45yo with Blue tip practice with my son Black tip.

may i ask you and your son don't get to go for class together right ? because school offers kids and adult classes different time slot.

It depend on what you want for your son? A martial art, or a competition?

There are two main stream of TKD: ITF or WTF. Same TKD with different focus!

may i know whats the difference between ITF and WTF ? maybe just martial art for now as i don't know if he will like to go for competition in future.
