The top 10% of JAE does not equate to top 10% of entire Singapore cohort which includes IP. And how did you come to the figure of top 10% of JAE ? COP of 7-8 is definitely not top 10%. The top 10% of JAE would likely be 4 pointers or less.

Raw score of 6 - 0 bonus points = 6 nett, not within 10%?

You suggessting all the that got a raw score of 6 in NYJC got in without any bonus pt? Or there are no Chung Cheng school students in NYJC?
You sound very desperate to argue cases just like how you tried to did with the gauge of performance between MJC and TJC. MY DS has a raw score of 8 and nett 6 and is the top 5% of cohort (https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/edusave/edusave-scholarships-for-independent-schools-%28esis%29) as he is eligible for EEIS as stated on the letter he received together with his result slip.

So what is your evidence to say that \"The top 10% of JAE would likely be 4 pointers or less.\"? So much untruths in your statements.

Other than 300 students increase in CJC, anybody knows the intake increase for other JCs?

VJ's intake is close to 900 (about 200 increase)
NY's intake is also close to 900 (according to it's Facebook post) (about 200 increase)
SA's intake is about 700 to 800 (about 100 to 150 increase)
PJ's intake is about 800+

(PS If you guys are wondering which JC my child posted to, your guesses is as good as mine. For those who have known me in other secondary sch chat in this forum. You would have guess it. It’s the JC which enjoy all day sea Breeze)

I think our dc might be in the same JC that enjoy sea breeze the entire day. She was clear and glad she made the choice despite she could have made it to top 1 choice. A lot of her peers are in the top 1 “choices” now. She enjoyed the reporting day today and commented that she is glad that she can have a life besides studying.

Looks like my DS is also in the same JC as your DCs. Nil Sine Labore

CWSS is one of the good schools in the Holland area. My friend’’s child was from this school. She did very well to qualify for the Humanities Scholarship program in EJC

I tot CWSS is located at West Coast area?
To be precise, is at Pandan Garden

Yes, CWSS is not considered to be in the Holland area. I really wonder ttsheng99 credibility in his posts

Have you not continued this comparison as well  )

The difference between you and me is that you have publicly declare in this forum that you will not compare but you go back on your words. That makes you untrustworthy and a liar.
mindays:
True, even if these JCs offer HSP, exactly how many of the students are from HSP? And it is very short sighted to just use HSP as a gauge for top colleges. HSP is just one of the many special programmes offered by MOE. Look at the rest of the special programmes:

MOE Secondary and Pre-University Scholarships
Art Elective Scholarship
Humanities Scholarship
Language Elective Scholarship (Chinese)
Language Elective Scholarship (English)
Language Elective Scholarship (Malay)
Language Elective Scholarship (French)
Language Elective Scholarship (German)
Language Elective Scholarship (Japanese)
Language Elective Scholarship (Spanish)
MOE Pre-University Scholarship
Music Elective Scholarship
Regional Studies Programme Scholarship (Secondary)
Regional Studies Programme Scholarship (Pre-U)
Bicultural Studies Programme Scholarship (JC1 Intake)
Precisely, You just shot yourself in the foot. Then why are you using \"Elligibility for University\" only to compare TJC with MJC and claim that MJC is better than TJC ?

We all know that to be \"elligiblity\" for university, the bar is set very low as you just practically need only A level passes. However that does not mean you qualify and will be admitted to university. So how does that make 1 college better than the other ?

You are just being myopic. And FYI, those MOE special programs that you listed, most of the the IP colleges have virtually most of them. Does MJC has it? Does NYJC has it ?

I have no idea how your thoughts work. IF you are not even eligible for university, why even talk about admission? You are so illogical and it will just be a waste of my time to entertain you. FYI NYJC has 2 of MOE special programmes.

You are a pretty good liar. Did you not just make a comparison in the Meridian JC thread and conclude that MJC is better than TJC and that proves that non-IP JC is better than IP JC ?

https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=18594&p=1830104#p1830104

Someone asked for academic information between MJC and TJC. I have the information and so I shared. I did not start the comparison.

But you said that You will refrain from comparing. So are you saying that you lied ?

And MJC is definitely not better than TJC, despite your impaired logic. And as ptthp as mentioned there are only 7 colleges that have the Humanities Scholarship Program and one of them is TJC. This program is only given to the top colleges in Singapore. Only ACJC is a non-IP college

Colleges that have the Humanities Scholarship Program
Raffles Institution
Eunoia JC
Victoria JC
National JC
Temasek JC
Anglo-Chinese JC

You are again talking gibberish.
I have already shown you to be ELLIGIBLE for university, the bars are set so low. Virtually all Tom, Dick and Harry will be Elligible but would they get selected into the University ??

Do you have any data of the number of distinctions in all subjects by TJC nd MJC ? Would that not be a better gauge ?

You are pretty naïve to just conclude that Meridian JC is better than TJC by just looking at ELLIGIBLITY

A gauge is a gauge, both data (eligibility and 3 H2 and GP passes) have clearly shown the academic performance between TJC and MJC. It is a fair comparison. Don't try to mislead the public with your weasel, it's disgusting. If person A cant even run 400m, what makes you think he can run 800m?

Rubbish. You are using the lowest of lowest gauge. As I have stated clearly, Elligibity for University does not mean anything. It only means you can apply to University - and to apply to University you only need just to PASS your subjects ( as stated in my previous posts).

You are the one trying to mislead the public with your unproven logic , as usual
Trash. You are trying to disprove a fact. If you cant even pass a subject, what makes you think you can get distinction for it. As I have said, it's a fair comparison. Dont belittle the mechanism of any gauge. What do you then have to say for 3H2 passes with GP?

What's your proven logic then? I use hard facts while you are trying to mislead the public with your weasel.

DC is going to JC under the JAE soon and need advise. On the first day reporting to the JC, are the students suppose to put on their secondary school uniform??

Depending on the JCs, some JCs require their students to report in their secondary school PE attire or secondary school uniform, so don't be too quick to dispose them.

You are confused by your own interpretation. I have hard solid evidence to back up what I say:

(year 2015 A Level Results, released in 2016)
MJC Percentage of Students Eligible for University: 99%
TJC Percentage of Students Eligible for University: 96.2%

MJC Percentage of Students with at least 3H2 + GP Passes: 96.8%
TJC Percentage of Students with at least 3H2 + GP Passes: 95%

Both of my sources clearly stated ELIGIBLE for university, but you are right about the meaning of ELIGIBILITY of university. So now we know that a non-IP JC (not to even say the top), aka MJC, triumphs over an IPJC like TJC.

You are again talking gibberish.
