      Hi All,

I'm planning to put my younger son in a childcare next year.

I just visited Cambridge @ Hougang (Poh Huat). The teacher told me the ratio is 1:11 which I think a little too crowded. I wonder how these 11 child managed to squeez their mattress into that small room with tables/chairs/bookshelfs around

My elder used to be in Joyous which ratio for N1 & N1 is about 1:8. which I find is rather good. I still think at the age of 4, personal touch is very much needed.

Sad to say, the centre closed in 2006 due to the increased in overhead cost.

Well, would appreciate if some of you could share your view on the cc that your child is in now around hougang/serangoon area.
your younger son will be under N1 or N2 next yr? mine is currently N2 this year and is now at Cambridge @ poh huat. current ratio is 1:12
for N2 class, during nap time, they will usually go to another room for a nap. so far, my son is pretty ok with it. I'm quite happy with it cos the ccc will update the parents on the kids with photos posted on the web. They also organise 1 outing per month for the kids too. good to say that, minimum, my son did not fall sick for the 1st 4MTHS with them (touch wood) 😛

    • RE: Mummy mom2boys: New mom finally has the courage to join

      hello....

just came back from a short trip to malaysia, bring my 2 boys age 3plus and 9mths along...so challenging...
my 2 boys age gap is 3yrs...very tiring...the big one wants attention and guidance on learning..the small tag along want mummy to carry..initially thought of 3yrs gap so that both kids will be closer..now find both of them too close liao..until if one sick, the other follow suit...
both of my kids just recover from false measles...so stressful to take of both of them even with the help of my hubby 😞

      Thanks Chiefkiasu,

feel more at ease after your comments
nearby my son's CCC is Pat Schoolhouse..but price too steep to pay for the branding, so settle with Cambridge (about 600/mth with speech and drama once a week). The CCC provides one outing for the kids every month which I thought is quite good to let the kids expose to outdoor instead of cooping in the centre everyday.

      Hi,

I’ve recently placed my kid (N2) in Cambridge Learning Centre in Hougang. They have 2 outlet there. any comments? Been searching around, found this CCC, small with big outdoor area. 1 form teacher with 12kids, is the ratio too big?

currently, my boy doesn't attend any enrichment course. my boy now attends to a full day CCC at Hougang (Cambridge Learning Centre), any comments on this? once a week, the CCC engaged ACTs for speech & drama lesson which I've paid for too. I thought since he's already on full day programme from Mon to Fri should be more than enough for him but find him a bit loss (ie dun know what to do during his free time in the evenings and weekends) he will draw a bit then ask for my attn to play. dun like to write 😞

He tried GUG before. seems to like it. may want to go back and check out their weekend programmes again.

      ggd:
      Hello 😄

I am new here, like to find out from all the experienced parent how to go for PV for my child born 2004. Is it a bit early?
I used to stay in Jurong west with my mom, near Rulang <1km, but shifted to Choa Chu Kang 5 yrs ago. And I have change my address to CCK. Any chance if I can still used my mom address to register my child to rulang, if I am willing to sacrify my time for PV? Anyone know which period of time rulang open for PV registration?

      Really appreciate your advise.
      hello ggd,

my eldest child born in 2004 too..actually i stayed in hougang, but my mom stays taman jurong, i thought of using her address if i decided to register my to rulang too..cos my son used to be under my mom's care till recently when my 2nd boy is born, i brought 2 of them back to hougang cos my mom can't handle caring of 2boys..send my eldest son to childcare while my younger one care by my maid (of 10yrs) with my MIL at home...still deciding bet hougang or jurong..read the comments on pri, rulang produces top student everyyear..

Which explains why I am still half-hearted even though my gal can get into Ai Tong. If I have 100% confidence to get into Xin Min, I wouldnt be fretting so much 😞
