I wasn't saying that you have flexible hours, that is one of the issues that we have here. But surely if you give your maid one day a week off there isn't that much that needs to be done? Do you need to mop, sweep & wash toilets on Sunday? I assume that she does this on the other 6 days of the week?

My maid and kids will be over at my in laws on weekdays and we bring them back at night. So there are actually quite a lot of housework to be done on weekends.

I have a colleague in the UK who is my counterpart for Europe who has 2 children (8 & 2), does the same full-time job as me which includes almost monthly overseas travel and she has no choice but to survive with just a part-time cleaner. She or her husband have to cook when they get home every night and the children are 100% her responsibility whenever she isn't at work. We are very lucky!

I have colleagues and clients in UK as well but I heard from them even though they work full day, their day actually ends at 3pm to allow them to fetch the kids from childcare centres and for their bonding time.

So I would prefer an extra hand to help with the kids and the housework. And who says there is no bonding when there's a maid around?

Like I said, I have 3 children but I DO NOT have flexible hours not like some lucky mothers! I already mentioned I have to take of the children everyday even on weekends! Hmmmm....do I really have to list down the housework a usual household have to do - mopping sweeping, washing the toilets etc....and I don't even request my maid to cook! We usually buy back or eat out. I would also like a proper rest day WITHOUT the kids! *Sigh*
