Stress is self-induced.floppy:
Under psle new system, every subject is equally important. Getting 100% for 3 subjects cannot help much if the other single subject is badly done.
Isn't it more stressful than O level L1R5??
If you insist on a super high score and to fight for single point, it’s going to be stressful - be it old, new or a revamped / rebranded / re- marketed yet-to-be developed new-new system.
Likewise, if you insist on scoring 2 points for L1R5, it is going to be equally stressful in O level.
Couldn't agreed anymore - \"Stress is self-induced\". I know a few outstanding dc whose parents always will comment their child perform \"very badly\", when all their 4 subjects are so outstanding like 95% above, & even hit 99%. So they are actually implying 99% is not good enough, coz they want 100% full marks on the subject! Oh gosh! I mean, 99% for just 1 careless mistakes - U are not even satisfy to even loss of that 1 mark???? Sometimes, I just don't understand why the \"elitism\" remarks over marks??
Totally agree. That’s where sensitivity & empathy comes in. No problem if such discussion is within a group of similar expectations & ability. Otherwise, it will cause some level of discomfort amongst parents/kids with different ability.

Bbpc:
There’s no need to apologize, Bbpc. In fact, we are thankful that our dc falls in the top 3% category too. Actually, my earlier post not particularly directing at any parent. Just meant to serve as a reminder to parents of kids with stellar results. While we are rejoicing & discussing about which top school Is better, some parents who are reading this may be in a dilemma of choosing between normal or express stream. It is totally understandable should they feel uneasy reading certain posts, which would be better if parents could be more mindful when posting. I tell my dc the same thing too, to be more sensitive when discussing PSLE or school choices related topics with friends who have not done as well or below expectations. After all, it’s a good opportunity to teach our kids about empathy. Cheers & All The Best!Mr OK:
Frankly speaking, parents with DCs who are in the top 3 percent or above 262 T-score, be more sensitive & tactful when posting questions. Just my 2cents worth.
Hi Mr OK, sorry for my not that \"sensitive & tactful's Qs.....\" Please accept my sincere apologies. -

RE: 2017 PSLE Discussions and Strategies
Even if my child’s T-score is above 270, I still would religiously put in 6 sensible choices & be able to sleep peacefully at night, without having to worry about hiccups. I mean why take the risk?

Hi all,
You may like to go RGS DSA portal to check your application status. -
RE: Rosyth
Yes, P1 to P2, no change. P2 to P3, previously was based on result, but if I’m not wrong, the school has decided on random allocation ever since they renamed the classes last year. So class allocation based on result starts from P3 to P4, then P4 to P5. P5 to P6 remain unchanged.
