floppy:Thank you so much!! I'm going to take your advice.mum2km:Hi everyone. Clueless mum to a dragon boy here. We are SC and only eligible for Phase 2C for all of the nearby schools. Moving is not an option right now. The problem is 2 of the schools nearby my house are popular schools. Geylang Methodist Primary (<1km) and Maha Bodhi (1-2km). Actually, MBS is much more convenient for my family. I know both are slim chance, but do you think zero chance for me to even trying Maha Bodhi?
Popularity of Maha Bodhi is declining in the last couple of years where SC < 2km could actually sneak in (apart from last year, do so without balloting). There’s a possibility that the trend may continue this year and you could stand a chance for the school.
However, if the heat for Maha Bodhi gets too hot for you to handle or the odds for Maha Bodhi shortens considerably, you may want to apply in Geylang Methodist Primary. You are almost guaranteed a spot here if you are applying < 1km. The school hardly ballots for SC < 2km.
