Hi, my son was in ISpark and took LEP and 3rd Language. He is now in CSE doing China study. Spoke to him last night and he said that LEP is actually very light and an appreciation of the past works. I don't think it is difficult to manage both. BTW, he had only Merit in PSLE HCL and prior to P6, he was told that he wont make it for HCL. So if he is now interested in Chinese enough to do China Study, I think we should be open to let our sons try it if they do not violently object. My experience with HCI teachers, (though only ISparks) are that they are very caring and have good knowledge of our boys. Do encourage your son to approach them for advice and make decision from there.

Thanks for sharing. Care to share also how long he took LEP and 3rd language ? Did he include LEP and 3rd lang in his MSG? Is he currently in CSE-B class?

Hi, my son is still doing his 3rd language in French, but being actively involve in class and cca, there is a possibility he might drop later. The criteria is that if there are too many homeworks that eats into his bedtime of 11:00 pm. I am not sure of the answer for the rest of questions. Let me ask him and get back tmr. Understand that your son is in Sec 3 too, is he is B class?

I m not sure if it will clash with any other activity? As well as your concerns abt drop out mid way & exam. however I understand such prog will further help in CL learning.

hihi, may i ask does the 260 t-score incl HCL points in order to be eligible for LEP?

    • RE: Club 3 or more Kids

Hi, I am working full time with kids aged 8, 10, 12 and 14. (#2 being a girl) Had maid on and off but found that I do better without them. The most liberating time was the 1 year maid-less period when I just had #4 and with hubby working outside SIN.

Without maid, kids tend to be more independent. My #1 especially is very helpful. He was helping to heatup lunch and taking didi and meimei when in P4&5 when we had no maid.

All kids’ had their lights off at 8:30 pm. Only this year, allowed #1 to sleep about 10 pm. The early bedtime meant the kids have good rest and mummy have time to do housework. I do cook and bake breads for them.

Most of them do not have tuition except occasional Chinese on-and-off so it is easy on family time and budget. Being working mum without another adult (till hubby returns about 2 years ago), kids had to study independently or get help from older ones.

Now we drive an MPV but before that, we were car-less and rent weekend cars from NTUC since hubby is only home on weekends. That worked just fine.
