worst, an uncle told me this\"wa, look after kids tired anot? who ask u get married & ve kids la\" i replied him tired sure will tired, but im happy cos ive 2 healthy kids & i never regretted getting married & having kids. so what he's an elder, so rude to comment like this when 1 of his children is already married.

To me, i feel that the people who has problems are my relatives, not my son.

Agree..sometimes their words can be quite disheartening ..we cant stop people from commenting and giving us sugesstion to bring see doc etc etc..diff kids develop at a diff pace...me too have a son who is a late talker....so dont worry wen time to come ur kid will talk non stop ...cheer up!!!

He start talking at the age of 5 !!! ...now getting better...

I'm new to this forum .Intro.... i'm a mummy to 2 kids -Boy 6 yrs & Girl 4yrs. I am at loss of what to do of my situation...sigh...My son is in K2 now and his development is not on par with his peers of his age.We seek advice from KKH Child Development Depart and doc recommended OT & PT for my son. He has some speech delay too. OT & PT therapy has been goin on for the past 1yr.

Doc mentioned he is not autistic but slow in his development and my worry now is his entrace to P1 next yr .Doc advised us to let our son sit for the entry test in KKH (which i am currently waiting for the date) and it would be better for us to defer his P1 and allowing my son more time to be ready .I have few questions any appreciate any advise ..I'M AT LOSS & CONFUSED .

Now...should i retain and repeat him to K2 and give him an ample time to be ready for P1. But then again by repeating him in the same school , me n hubby felt that it will lower his self-esteem becoz everyone is promoted and he has to retain. We also felt that he will be like a turtle in a shell if he repeats and we are not giving him an opportunity at all to be exposed to a new environment with new frens. On the otherhand he might struggle in P1.

If we proceed to register for to P1 can we get KKH to give a note to school abt his development and hopefully with possible discusssion with the teachers they are able give him that xtra support in school.He is slow and of course we parents hope that we he mix around with brighter kids in the school along the way he would eventually pick up. He like blur blur sometimes and we wonder how is he goin to buy food during recess time , will he get lost in the school...etc etc..there are so many issues in our mind....HELPPPP!!!!

Am a LOSS..appreciate any advise :sad:
