They have changed to 2 gep and 1 Meta some time ago already. And yes, apparently no more HA and MA class until P5.

What’s the criteria for HA? It’s quite disruptive to keep changing classes every year.

Not sure if there is still HA class? Most classes seem to have be spread over 3-4 classes. GEP classes for 4K and 4L, and Meta is 4J.

1) Other then the the kids moving GEP, META, do the rest of the kids just promote en-bloc to P4 (when does HA allocation start)?
2) what exactly is the benefit of HCL under the new PSLE scoring system? bonus points? nothing?

Actually my son is still in Nanyang Kindergarten attending Nursery classes now. But the kindergarten is already offering gymnastics as one of the enrichment classes which will be taught in NYPS by their coach. And because they word it in a such a way that NYPS wants to discover new talent from young and hence offering these classes from Nursery level in NYK, that has got me to think about the sports talent route admission into NYPS Hope it clarifies any confusion caused.

Primary 1 system is very transparent, so no short cut way. Do note that if your child gets into NYPS and is keen to pursue a particular spot, the coaches start to \"select\" from as early as term 2 those kids suitable to have additional training with the school team and competition. if you already take external classes outside and your child is keen to compete, also can approach the teachers. Formally, there is no CCA for Pr 1 and Pr 2. Only gets recorded in the report book if your child competes under school colours.

Any parents able to share any feedback on the Wushu team? Last year's performance at inter-school is not great. Heard there is a change of instructor this year.


Any insights into the school team selection process will be appreciated - heard most of the kids are selected through the ASEP, is that true?
