      Hi,
I am a P6 this year and would like to know whether to aim for either Hwa Chong or NUS High. I am good at math and science and am interested in these subjects. I am also really passionate about computing. However, I also like Hwa Chong as it is more all-rounded and its emphasis on Chinese culture. What are the pros and cons of joining both schools? Thanks if anybody can reply.
An interesting info on NUS - I met a yr4 student in NUS High who decided to switch from Science/Maths to Economics. So NUS High gives certain flexibility to such students too.

But, the fact that you like \"more rounded\" and \"Chinese culture\" - go for Hwa Chong.

      All the best!!

      Dear all,

I have a son that tell me wanted to join Hwa Chong next year. I am worried whether he can cope with it or not. I don't think I can help him in his study.
He scores 261 + 2 in his PSLE. Hope someone can enlighten me on this. Actually, I prefer RV as I think it might be less stressful.

      Thanks.

      Very worry mum.
      I see a \"key\" in your text - \"he wanted to join\".
Ours the same case... we were very unsure. BUT walked through pros and cons (example \"distance\" etc etc).
He wanted it, and now is enjoying school life.
      So, have peace.
      All the best.

I don't know why but my son always wants to be in school early! between 645 and 7 am. So though we don't live that far away, we also end up leaving the house before 6.30am

If I live in bedok, I think have to leave at 6am.

Depending on exactly where in Bedok... but 6 is about right. Bus 48 takes you to Bras Basah. You can then take MRT to Tan Kah Kee (right on school's doorstep).
Take note - coming home can be a little more challenging after CCA - clashes with 6pm office rush.
Weigh all your options... wish you all the best!!

    • RE: Tao Nan

Hi, anyone knows how should we measure our kid’s school result to that of nationwide PSLE T-score? Should we just compute T-score based on Taonan’s school wide (Level) Mean score and Std Dev? If so, it looks like kids will have to hit avg 95 for all 4 subjects to get T-score aggregate of 250. Is that about right?

Hi, thinking of sending my son to either Parkway or Bedok center. Any advice is appreciated. Also if referral quote is available, please pm.

Anybody does it privately… ie to get teacher to your house? Save time and helpful if you need to slow down or speed up depending on child’s progress. Just asking…

Hi, i just found out about this yesterday. Very impressive. Also read that rates is not the same for each branch although teaching method n materials are the same. Anyone knows what is highest and lowest for once a week lesson?
