I am new to S’pore education system and i didn’t understand one thing.What is Parent volunteering? Is it compulsory for a parent to do PV? What are the benefits of PV? my two kids are to be in P4 and K1.Do i have to register for PV in their schools? please give me clear information on this.

I had contact with MOE and Shuqun primary school.

Reply from MOE says that we get a seat only on vacancy available in the said school.
And the admin of Shuqun says they will inform if a vacancy arrives if we place my kid in waiting list.
I doubt that what if there is no vacancy? near by schools are Rulang and then Corporation PS. In my kid’s case,her mother tongue is Hindi and Shuqun have Hindi center.that’s why we prefer this school. can the MOE help us to attain a seat in this school? I am really very tensed and confused reading all those stuff from MOE and other schools. HELP ME SOMEONE…

My child is 4 years old this October 14th. Can any one suggest a better kindergarten in Jurong west st51? What is your opinion about Little wings? What is the fee structure in play schools and kindergartens?

Myself and 2 kids will come from India to Singapore next month. we are coming under Dependent Pass and will be living in Jurong west st 51 and the nearest schools are Rulang and Shuqun.

Can any one guide me with the exact time to register my elder child in P4 for the year 2011?I have come to know that foreigners its phase3. when should i place my child in waiting list? is it possible to avail a seat in any of these above said schools?[/b]
