Both options have pros and cons. I'm sure you've given it serious thought already. If I were in your shoes, I'd let my daughter stay in her current school as it seems that she is happy there. Besides, uprooting a child to join the endless academic chase can be tiring and taxing for her and for you in the long run. Like you said, she'd miss her classmates. Just my opinion. In any case, good luck! šŸ™‚

That's the positive side of it, but on the contrary, I'm really afraid she can't cope. She's been learning Chinese since Nursery and I've also put her in tuition classes.. But the thing is, she doesn't really enjoy the subject. Time is running out and I'm really worried as I can't come to a decision.

If you noticed that she's already having trouble coping, then apply for exemption first. It is easier to apply to take the exam than to apply to not take the exam.

hello. I'm new to Kiasu parents. my girl will be going to Marymount convent school next year. we are Eurasians and i'm wondering if i should let her study Chinese or not take any 2nd language at all. i took Chinese myself back when i was in school but it was tough and very embarrassing for me. so my dilemma is whether to let my daughter take up Chinese. Any non-Chinese families out there who is letting your daughter take Chinese?

I had a student who was exempted from 2nd language by MOE.
What the school arranged was to let her join the Chinese class like other girls in her class. She took the same tests and did the same homework. By P5, her parents realised that she could cope very well, they wrote in to MOE to let her take the PSLE exams. She got an A* for Chinese at PSLE.

Updates: I've gotten the set of papers (8 schools per subject). I will be scanning them and uploading them by tomorrow night.

For parents with children in schools which are not in the sets, do contribute the papers so that we can have more papers for our students/children to practice. Thanks!

      Tisha,

I believe all parents here will be glad to have any form of free resources, be it from top schools or not.

I don't mind more papers for all to practice. Do email me if you can.

      Regards,

By then, it would be too late for our badge this year who are taking psle rite? I mean how soon can they (the papers be up)?

I've uploaded whatever papers kind parents have sent to us. There were many who have expressed interest in sending us the papers but we've not received them. If no one contributes, we won't have any papers to upload either.

Based on our experience from last year, we need 2 to 3 days to scan in the preliminary papers once they are available for sale. If you want free papers, that's the fastest we can go. If you want them fast then you'll probably have to purchase a set direct from the supplier.

      Regards,

How or where could I find more details like charges, operating hours etc. about Learning Bliss? For those who have used their services, are they good? Thanks.

Heard from my current students that they are going to close due to the extension of the school to cater to single session. Not too sure when though, you might want to call them to check.
