Did you manage to get one of the teachers you have mentioned above? Will like to know what you think if your daughters have started lessons with him. And sharing the rates will be useful ! heard that Benjamin loh charges about $100 per lesson for grade 4? and takes 6 weeks paid leave annually ?

I have been quoted $888 for maid agency fee (excluding insurance!!) Owner Mark Lim at WorldMark Maids said that he personally interviews and scans the maids, so if he says its good, its really good.


Anyone uses this agency? Can rec? I feel that $888 is REALLY EX, but we are willing to pay if his maids are really that GOOD. My current EM4 maid is really hopeless (although compliant).

I am a psuedo SAHM, so I thought I should spend more time taking care of my own tot than to let some business take over the role of parenting. I am not dismissing those who deposit their kids with childcare ctres (I would have done the same if not for our collective decision to let 1 parent be the main caregiver till my child turns 3-4) And 'collective decision' here involves parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc...


I have sat in at several playgroups with my child. The standard of spoken English frightens me As it is, my girl isnt very articulate compared to kids her age. The thought of her uttering broken English really made me cringe. Then, there is the lack of hygiene (2 adults can't possible monitor all that many kids). Many friends have reported increased incidents of illness after starting playgroup. I can't bear to let her fall ill altho' I know we could say its in the name of \"building immunity\".

And the main reason probably boils down to my own background. I am a teacher. I can't find a reason to not teach my own kid after teaching other people's children for so many years ! I personally feel that regardless of your profession, a parent is the BEST teacher to her child.
