RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion
Can any parents shed light on what the P4 common test 2, particularly science processing skills and math investigation skills, would cover? :thankyou:

Thanks for the sharing. It is indeed useful to know that there can be some “light” at the end of the tunnel, as long as we persevere.

RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion
hi GiftedGem, I have read this thread from page 1 to the last page. It took me a few days. I read how you have created this thread and the selfless sharing of information and experience with other parents. I am glad you still come back to this thread to provide further assistance to parents whose children are still in the primary school GEP, though your daughter has already graduated to secondary school.
My son is now at P4 GEP. Before the recent CA1 exam, I kept nagging him to stop playing computer game (non-stop 5 more minutes), urging him to revise, scolding him that his break time was longer than revision time (he studied for 10min and went on 5min break). To summarise, his “revision” basically amounted to just eyeballing the school worksheets, with very little practice and drill.
He managed to clear the 70% for the 5 subjects based on the common tests (overall result incorporating daily assignments is not known yet). However, I don’t think the same revision approach can work moving forward. Yet I do not know what to do to change the situation. What I have realised now is that nagging really does not help. As a SAHM, I feel helpless when he does not want me to coach him. My husband coaches him at night and over the weekends, while I stand by the side telling my husband what to tell him.
My son does not attend any tuition. I feel that I should probably start looking for one/some, especially for the languages. Any advice regarding good coaching approaches and tuition/enrichment classes will be much appreciated.

RE: Maris Stella High
Hi Parents,
Can any parents shed light on the format for 口语活动 课文朗读? My son is in P1 and there is this test next week. The teacher gave out a note to study chapters 6-15 of the chinese textbook but there was no other instruction.
Are the boys supposed to memorise the passages? Or are they given the texts to read? Will the hanyupinyin be available too?
Without knowing the format, I am clueless on how to prepare DS for the test. Appreciate any advice please. Thanks.
