    • RE: [Alexandra/Bukit Merah/Queenstown/Tiong Bahru] Preschools

      Thundertomb:
Hi, I am a daddy that is new to kiasuparents. We just moved to Bukit Merah estate and is looking for a full-day programme for my 3yo and 10mo. For convenient sake, I am considering the centre with both childcare and infant care, and only Cherie Hearts and Bloomberry with vacancies.

I am not so comfortable in Cherie Hearts as they are franchised business, so I went to Bloomberry yesterday for centre viewing.

The school is very new (started on Jul 2014) and clean. This is something that my wife likes as she prefer a clean environment for growing children. To me, I look at their curriculum and menu. They serve in-house food only. They also serve organics food every Wed (if I am not wrong) and western food every Friday, which I find it interesting, giving the kids with more variety choice.

Curriculum wise, besides the standard eng/chi/ math/ science/ art lesson, they teach Jolly phonics from N2 onwards. So I asked the principal about younger classes. Principal told us that they use another phonics set (Alphabet Zoo) that is easier for younger class to understand.

I saw the engagement between the teachers and children, which is also very important too. Surprise to see that all the children are having fun with the teachers. Their teacher to child ratio is small as the centre max cap is 40+.

Fees wise, I think it is reasonable ($780 after sub). I am not comparing void deck area with commercial.

My wife and I are quite keen as there are not many choices in redhill with both infant and childcare. Most probably will enrol by this week.

Any parents put their children with Bloomberry?
Any parents have better sch to recommend us before we enrol?

So far. how's the feedback of Bloomberry? Any school bus for the kids as I will be shifting to Queenstown soon.

    • RE: Mulberry Learning Centre

I started my girl from infant last year at IBP, it was Cherie Hearts then which MLC just took over. I can say it is quite messy administratively and almost all the teachers left previously. What previous teacher (from CH) told me about no price increase etc, it doesnt take effect when the new management really come in.

But nevertheless, I think the transition seems ok IMO and i felt they are more structure and teachers are responsible enough and update us with photoblog every week on what they learn.

Although my hub felt that they are not that good, I feel its good enough.

I actually wanted to put my girl @Acer last year but there was no space.

Although the price is comparable to learning vision but I heard LV@icon is not doing well.
