Hi, my boy is in P1 this year, studying in Gong Hwa Primary School. We currently live in Pasir Ris and my boy managed to get in last year as my husband is Alumni and ex student in the school. Fast forward to now and I would like to transfer him to Primary schools within Pasir Ris.

Reason being though we managed to secure a school bus for him, he has to board the bus at 6am and I have to wake up earlier at 5am. I'm pretty burnt out and the school bus fees are not cheap for 1 way. The journey home is close to 1h and I feel that it tires my boy a lot and I'm concerned it may affect his studies in the long run. So far he is adapting well to primary one and in student care as well.

My concern is that if I choose to transfer him to a primary school close to my house, how likely am I able to get my application to MOE approved? I'm looking at Pasir Ris Pri Sch, Elias Park Pri Sch and Park View Pri Sch. May I know if any one knows the strengths of these pri schools? I intend to approach these schs by myself. Thank you all for your advice.
whitesand and casuarina.

In terms of popularity sequence
1. Pasir ris primary
2. whitesand
3. elias
4. casuarina
5. park view
6. meridian

Sorry to hear that. I remembered you forgo SMPS. Nothing to lose now - try for Casuarina and worse case scenario is MOE assigns you somewhere with available vacancies after 2CS. I would advise you also waitlist for PRP and EPP.

BTW, SACPS at Bedok isn’t really that far via PIE in the morning.

Worst case will be Meridian with 147slots left. Closest school in Pasir Ris unless MOE screws up.

Are you balloting for Casuarina? :?:
On the last day application, looking at the statistics, Casuarina (450m) for sure need balloting. Rang up ParkView (2.2km), school admin told me 'maybe' need balloting. Hence went for ParkView and glad that no balloting for SC (phew).

Congrats! Im still keeping my fingers crossed for round 2 of balloting for me. You are right about the results being so bizzare!

Sorry to hear about your failed balloting.

Btw - did you register using \"P1-IS\" or \"online form'?

I am unsuccessful using 'online form\" for Phase2C balloting too,

Trying to see some statistics using \"P1-IS\" vs \"online form'

Just curious, pls pardon me asking. I thought both forms are the same just that some parents they are not able to use P1-IS therefore use online form or parents whose address doesn’t tAlly then use the online form. So I suppose both shld stands equal chance, pls correct me if I m wrg.

both equal chance
theoretically based on MOE website, it is equal chance.

During the balloting via computer, we would not know if any technical glitches.

Best is live balloting in school which is much more transparent.

I am at Novena area, like know if anyone has anything concrete knowledge to share for Farrer Park Primary? Still doing more research before deciding on which primary to register. Already having 2 failed balloting experience is rather discouraging. 😞

Hi All,

My dd (SC) is unsuccessful with Pasir Ris Primary balloting (<1km)

P2CS - Schools in Pasir Ris left with vacancies
1. Casuarina Primary (within 1km) - 9 slots
2. Park View (Outside 2km) - 30slots
3. Meridian (Outside 2km) - 147slots

Ideally, we would like to go for Casuarina as DD is top priority but will most likely end up balloting - which we try to avoid.

Thoughts is to go for ParkView (P2CS). Last 5 years 2019-2015 all showed no balloting required for P2CS. And the consolation prize is ParkView is strong in Volleyball.

Also, worst case scenario if DD did not go into ParkView, will MOE allocate the next nearest school in Pasir Ris to DD? in this case most likely to be Meridian which has many vacancies left.

Thanks for any kind inputs.

Cheers

Just on odds analysis:

Left over from Casuarina and Park view is not enough to absorb the over from Elias, Pasir ris and white sands.
Among the 48 from Pasir ris and 14 from white sand, some will be the same catchment as you (at most level with you). For Elias 14, they are more likely to be within 1km of Park view.

So if the school (park view) release the breakdown is good, if not you can est around 10-14 are within 1km and the rest at most on par with you. then you can compare the odds with causarina which will be within 1km. when you have the breakdown you can assess which one is better for you do go for.

Thanks for this ODD analysis...

Yes, i have factored this 14 too based on the P2C results

Phase2C Unsuccessful applicants
Elias Park - 14
Whitesand - 11
Pasir Ris - 48
Total : 73

Just pray the unsuccessful applicants in the same catchment area all go for Casuarina instead of Parkview.

If want 100% guarantee can grab a school in Pasir Ris for Phase2CS - will be Meridian primary.

exactly...bad year to register during covid crisis

MOE should implement real-time statistics for P1 registration
