    • RE: Berries - Discussion

Hi, Just wanted to provide some feedback regarding Nursery classes at berries.

I enrolled my girl at Berries for one semester, and discontinued thereafter. I think the classes are rather basic, very applicable for children who have no prior knowledge of the language. For every class, they learn 2 words. Like the first lesson - it was hand and feet - ’ shou ’ , ‘jiao’. What I saw from outside the classroom was that they just kept flashing the cards throughout the whole 1.5hours. I do understand that they were trying to help the child memorise the words, but I guess this form of learning isn’t really what I am looking for for my child…

I did enrol her for a semester, and then discontinued thereafter. I do give them credit for helping the child ‘memorise’ the words, but i guess im looking for something a more enriching learning experience for my child…

May I ask how old was your child when he first took a liking to Weiqi?

Im trying to expose my girl to more physical activities as she doesnt really like playing outdoors. I thought gym might be good exposure. Just wondering if 4 years is too young an age to get started. My main objective is for her to gain more confidence as she pushes her body and realizes her potential.

    • RE: All About Violin Classes and Teachers

Hi Zac’s Mum - may I ask how old was your child when he indicated his interest to learn the violin?

I hear its quite a difficult instrument to learn at a young age

How do you know whether your child has an interest in picking up the violin, or cello or related string instruments?

As the mother, you should have the final say on when you should start weaning the kid off breast milk. You may see signs that he may not like to take in as much milk as before… that’s a telling sign.

    • RE: art schools that teach kids more than just art techniques?

My 3 year old daughter is enrolled in Da Little Art school @ Rochester Mall.

Highly recommend the Book Explorer classes…
The art pieces done up by the kids, facilitated by the teachers are extremely creative and allows the children to experiment with different materials each week (i.e. shaving cream, salt , clay, feathers, cotton wool etc).

My girl looks forward to her classes every week!
