Hi, any one has figures on St Gabriel's for current P2C?

Any reviews of St Gab is much appreciated..

My son is current P1 student in St Gab. We like the school and my son is happy there.
From my observation, the boys are generally well-behaved.

In terms of homework, it is very manageable. My son speaks very little Mandarin but the Chinese teacher is very encouraging and now he speaks with confidence. The school also has a robust reading program. My son is reading more now and can write simple composition on his own.

      Hi all,

Need advice here. If I apply in 2Cs via online then I wish to withdraw from the school due to it need balloting. How do I go about it? As I really do not wish to go thru the balloting process again.

      Pls help. Thks.

I assume 2C and 2CS work the same way.
I registered online during phase 2C and did a withdrawal. I had to do it in person. The school required both parents' original copy of IC.

I held on to the ICs and did the withdrawal while my husband was stationed at our other school of choice. The withdrawal was done in minutes and they will give you a withdrawal confirmation letter. And then I rushed to the other school as original ICs were needed to get registration queue number.

Important to monitor the crowd and time as withdrawal also needs to queue up.

I wonder where the cut off was. All SCs admitted >2km? Was very well-subscribed at phase 2b compared to previous years.

Yes, 2b this year saw higher registration numbers than previous years. I'm phase 2c and more than 2km. Thought my chance will be slim this year.

Turns out well! All SC admitted plus around 10 PRs I think.

Phase 2C registration is a very stressful process; application or withdrawal decisions don't come easy and I hope there won't be any further restriction on any part of the process.

      My home address is wonderful.
      <1km to Catholic High
      1-2km Aitong/Marymount/KCPP/CHIJ TPY

My husband and I cannot take the excitement of balloting, so we registered at St Gabriel's as a >2km. It's a wonderful feeling to have a confirmed place!

So if you can take risks well, by all means go to popular schools and give it a try. If you cannot take the heat just like us, maybe it's better to look elsewhere.

Totally agreed. A confirmed place feeling is a peace of mind and not get into a stressful situation, which we should prevent ourself from getting into.

My son's primary school journey started with a positive outcome, I believe his next 6 years will be a fruitful and fun journey.

Plus I don't need to force myself into a 2CS school of limited choices.

Thank you everybody for the input, advice and comments. We are happy our son got a place in St Gabriel’s without balloting.

I will be back 2 years later when it’s time to register my daughter.

I think everyone should just register as early as possible. Why? So that it gives yourself and others a clear indication of the chances. If everyone wait and see and all register on the last day...will have heart attack esp if first 2 days low registration and there is surge in application on the last day after the registration closed, resulting in a reduced chance where you might not be prepared to take *faint* :slapshead:

I agree with you! That's why I registered yesterday! I also thought if all registered early then we can make informed choices. But in reality quite hard to execute. There are many reasons for people who register later.

      I left ACSP about 10, and total registration were 18 (SC:16; PR:2).

Then I checked to ACSJ, their last update on 8:30 shown only online registration which 6/1/6 based on distance (<1k/1-2/>2).

      Anybody knows the latest?

I'm waiting for the latest too..I live within 2.3km. Do I have any chance of getting into ACSJ? or should I jus go for SJI which is within 2km?

      Ahh this is so stressful.

My friend is looking at the ACS schools too. She lives 1-2km but think chances are slim as ballot or cut-off is <1km over the last few years. SJI at least got chance to ballot 1-2km. Unfortunately she is on other side. >2km from SJI. So you are in a more fortunate situation.
Does MOE update today the applicants who registered online?

I read somewhere on MOE website it says something like updates will be provided on 'each registration day'. But I can't find that message to attach here.... So if today is counted as a registration day, there should be updates this evening.

      Let's see.

Last year, there was no update of applicants on the MOE website after the 1st day of P2C, which is online registration. Not sure will there be changes this year.

Last year, I called my choice school after application close on the 1st day of application to get the total number of kids registered for the day.
I see. Unlikely there will be updates. Already past 10pm now.
