Hi! after rest for a week, it's time to wake up.

I got the E-Learning schedule fr the school yesterday, pls check with your kid if they did not pass to you.
I just called to school and being told that the schedule for the sport day (31 Mar 10) not yet ready.

i will not be taking leave for 26/3. i read the e-learning schedule & understood tat all e-homework need to be completed preferably
in the day of 26/3 itself....which means no exact timing which the kids
need to log in to the portal to do right??? as long as complete on 26/3
      it will be ok??
      can experienced mummies advise, thanks!!

Yes, I have the same concern.
Do children have to login at specific time? Can we do on Thursday night or Friday morning or even over the weekend?
Any sharing would be most appreciated.

The condition 2 seem quite tough, is there any agent offers the refund of upfront loan in S'pore ? I used my agent about 6 years ago so not very sure about the quality of maids that brought in from Indo now. Anna if you are interested i can pm you the contact.

Yah, I am surprised at this condition too, the part about full refund. My experience is that you can get a free replacement within 6mths of hiring the original one - but usually a bit more expensive. I got mine changed coz she stole my money!!! Now my indon one very good.

Agree with most of your other conditions ... although din noe about (8). Anniekaisung ... pls share your agent that allow full refund. Thanks!

      Anna Ng:
      Just want to share something:

Last few days my son brought back a new pencil case and a box of colour pencil, he claimed that there were gifts from his classmate as my son helping him in the class (My son helps him to find his diary book and water bottles as the classmate lost somewhere). I was so doubts as I not sure whether his words were reliable or not. I worry that he took/steal something not belonging to him. The pencil case is with Ben 10 picture (which is my son favorite show) and seems like not cheap.
I keep asking my son using the hard and soft approach but not able to get the answer. So, I asked the form teacher to help me to investigate. After taking few days, finally this morning I received an email from his form teacher and being told that these were really an appreciated gift from his classmate and the form teacher also commented that my son is kind, honest and helpful in the class. I am so glad to hear that because I always want him to be independent and not always the one who need cares from others and importantly my son did not lie to me.
      Hi Anna,

That's really nice ... *hee* I know what you mean about doubting our own kids. I think we shd be more trusting.

Give your ds an extra hug and kiss for being such a good boy!

yup - i asked the teacher & she mentioned giving out the copy of questions today for show & tell....so do look out for it tonight, mommies of 1E. πŸ˜‰

and gosh! ds had to do almost 10 pages of Maths homework last night.....
1E mommies comments??? and plus the \"Xin Peng You\" worksheet hw, we did till 10pm.....sigh.

i'm a FTWM so it is really pressurising when I hv to ensure all his hw is completed the same night before i leave for work the next morning....
any other FTWM has this issue???? 😞

      Hi baby2momma,

Yes, I am also a FTWM ... and yes, normal to stay up till past 10pm (doesn't help that I get home late from work sometimes 😞 ... ). Its a good thing kids are in pm class this year, next year when they go morning class, I dun noe how to manage helping him with hw/spelling/听写 and still let him go to bed before 10pm!!!

      Hi baby2momma,

Yes, for English Show & Tell, have received 2 docs - 1 on guiding questions, the other is a sample (with blanks lines for your child to customise accordingly).

Also, in diary, there is a slip of paper stapled on that lists the schedule for show and tell, based on kids’ class register number.

Hope the above is helpful πŸ™‚

Hey, thanks to those who replied to my call for 1G parents. Btw, my son is in MT 1J … so similarly, either post a reply or reply to me in private (hee sorry as you can tell from my profile I am a newbie to this - just realised can send private mail by clicking on the [pm] button).

Sorry this is coming a bit late, this is the reply of English Teacher for 1G :
The Project Work will be independent work by each individual pupil and spans over coming Mon, Tue and Wed. The pupils can however clarify with the teacher if they are unclear about the tasks. The teacher will also give some examples on how the task can be accomplished. This alternative assessment will be graded, but the marks will not be considered in their final year report book. Putting the children through this exercise hopefully help them to be be more prepared for the real one in 3rd/4th term.
You can give him more pictures, with family, with friends, so that he has more choices to pick from. It’s important that he has his own glue, scissors and colour pencils.

As for the show and tell, I will be giving them some guiding questions so that they can prepare their script for presentation in class in front of their classmates in Week 9. Pls take a look at the guiding questions when he brings back on Monday and help him in memorising the lines.

Hi parents of DLS St Gabriel 1,

My child is in St Gabriel 1, I am in touch with a few other parents, and I find it very helpful to exchange information with other parents.

Sometimes the children are not able to copy down or remember all the instructions given by the teachers and hence they either fail to convey them to the parents or the messages are incomplete. Hence networking with other parents are very useful.

If you are interested to stay in touch, pls post a reply with your email address.

      Cheers!
