Well, my dd was posted to dunman sec but transferred to zhonghua sec, and now my dd said she prefer dunman sec.


im just here to prove that she shldn’t return there as firstly, it’s too far
and secondly there are many roads down there where there is an incident happening to a young girl too which i dont want my daughter to be like her, knocked over by a car while going to schl early in the morning.

And anyway, my daughter achieved a not bad score, 249, which i think dunman sec is not good enough for her, isnt it? Zhonghua sec has a cop of 238 at yr 2009 n that’s pretty impressive. Besides dunman sec is a band 4 sch (express) while zhss is a band 2 sch (express), so of cos zhong hua is better. Agree?

Is st. joseph convent a gd sch? Mydaughter was posted to dunmansec, n then appealed to zhonghua, but becuz they r both quite far frm home so i plan to send her to st joseph which is so muchnearer but am afraid that she’ll not be able to adapt to the changes?

This is what I did. I told my kid to study malay special programme and take higher chinese in secondary as she's eligible for them and I think it brings no harm and still can minus 2 points each from the L1R5 at the O'Levels. :roll:


But recently, I oftenly find her studying in the middle of the night and sleep at around 12 a.m or so. Once, she complained to me that she's afraid she can't cope with all these stuffs and will wish to quit Malay. I told her previously to not give up halfway through but now thinking back, I think that I should let her quit Malay, or shouldn't I? :stupid:

I want to apply for the Malay Special Programme (MSP) in ZhongHua Secondary School. I was from Dunman Sec transferred to ZhongHua and I was approved for my request of MSP programme in Dunman Sec.


However, I didn't go to the Zonal Centre stated to register as I thought that I'm transferred to ZhongHua already so I don't have to register the MSP programme under the school of Dunman Sec. :slapshead:

Now that I'm in ZhongHua, I didn't get the letter that I received in Dunman Sec saying that my request for MSP was approved, can I get MSP in ZhongHua now? :nailbite:

I scored an aggregate of 233 this year. I put Nan Chiau High School as my first choice, in great expectations of getting in, yet I got kicked out. I thought it's going to be easy to enter NCHS cos' it's cut off point is only a mark more than mine. I was then posted to my third choice, Dunman Secondary School.

My mum wants me to get into NCHS so she went on to lodge an official complaint. NCHS told my mum that they want 240+ to be admitted this year, in order to increase their COP.

My mum went on for a risk to appeal for NCHS from Dunman Sec, what is going to be the percentage of me getting in? :slapshead:

I do not know what's the chance for appeal, but just wanted to highlight that whether you are appealing to other schools, do bear in mind that you have to report to your posted school (Dunman) tomorrow to register. If appeal is successful, then you proceed to transfer out from your posted school.

One of my students appealed and was only told that she was successful while attending the orientation camp. She withdrew from the camp and went to her appeal school. My advice is don't buy till the last minute, i.e. on the first day of school, if possible. For uniform, there's no choice cos students are expected to wear them on the first day. I sugguest you get the name of the uniform supplier and if you are not successful in your appeal, you can get the uniforms directly from the supplier. Most schools do not start lessons proper until the 2nd week as the first week is for orientation and there won't be any lessons; timetable depends on individual schools. From what I knew, Broadrick has only 3 days of orientation while Temasek and Bedok View, for 1st week. VS and some other schools like Bedok View and Bedok Green go for adventure camp outside school compound. This practice may change but not to worry cos when you report tomorrow the school will inform you through the kit. Also, teachers are lenient if students do not have textbooks in the first 2 weeks. Book shops are opened during the first 2 weeks or so and most can also be purchased from Popular. All the best for tomorrow.

By sending kids to school, you are taking the risks of letting them to turn bad or to feel stress. There are many things that can happen to a child whom seriously, doesn't like to study or doesn't adapt to the school enviroment. So when a child feels stress about not being able to cope with their studies :?: , what should you do as a parent?
