Fully agree with Laughingcat. The interest level lies with the kids.Sometimes the materials can be good but if the kids are not interested, how good the matereials are make no difference.

I had a good laugh when you made this comparison. Very true indeed!
What's the difference between a LV and Charles & Keith handbag?lchunleo:
Can i ask a naive question? i have been trying to understand what are the differences between branded school vs neighbourhood school but still i have yet to come to any conclusion besides the obvious, such as more well known, more balloting for these school..is it really a hype/parabola effect or there is some sense in it.
have been following the news since years back and attending the open house of various primary schools where each school showcase their achievement. After a while, one realize that it is actually very confusing where each of them trying to promote various learning style and ideas...
any comments?

Cannot agree more but accidents or dangers are everywhere & overseas trips are now a norm unlike our school days. I believe every parents would agree that when our kids go for this kind of overseas trip, our mind & soul are with them till they are back home safely. It's kind of mental stress.son mentioned some trip to japan (cca thing)...I fail to understand the need for it. anyway, it costs a bomb and naturally I said no.
I know I have to learn to let go sooner or later...since he is a boy, but overseas trips must be justified. even if I trust his teachers, I don't know how the organizers plan the itinerary. -
RE: CNY Reunion Dinner...at home and out
I’ve never eaten out during reunion. Being FTWM, work will be half day, then rush home to finish off any left over hsework, then rush to bring food for my parents cos’ they are too old to cook then rush to MIL place for another makan. So reunion is always a mad rush.
