hmsg:There are 60 qualified for META for 2012 P4 class (selected by MOE). There will be 2 META classes of 30 each for 'expert class' time for EMS & SS.just888:How many META classes are there?
Depends how many gets qualified for META (next 2 - 5%) based on GE selection. There are 3 META classes (I think) for this year's P4.

Not being in the same class with GEP is one thing, but more importantly, what is the syllabus of META based on? Mainstream or GEP?
For EMS, META same as mainstream.
For CL & SS, META follow GEP. But SS grading different.
Hope I have help to answer some queries for the monday decision!
From 19Nov11 briefing tt I attended, META students will only join GEP for HCL, music, art, PE and some SS project works.
When come classes for EMS & SS, META students split from GEP. -

There is no LA per say. In fact, I do not recall the term \"LA\" mentioned. MA is mixed ability, not medium.thankgod:
If I am not wrong, I have been lead to believe that the following is a breakdown of the available
- GEP
- META
- HA (high ability)
- MA
- LA
Crème de la Crème will be the GEP
I think the different groupings for next year P4 should be as follows:-
- GEP
- META (who are also refer as HA-High ability)
- Mainstream - HA (High achievers) & MA (Mixed abilities)
Correct me if I'm wrong! :yikes: -
RE: Nanyang Primary
Anyone has kids in this year P4 META class? Are the students in META & GEP being placed in the same class? Or GEP is a stand alone class?

RE: Nanyang Primary
Hi, does anyone know how is META prog like in NYPS? Was briefly informed tt kids in META prog will GEP students for some classes except EL, Science, Social Studies n Maths. That means only left with Chinese, music , PE… (what else?) the 2 groups will do together. What’s d point? Also, does it META students are actually in different class from GEP (in other words, GEP students are grouped in one class)?
Hope to clear all these confusion. Many thanks.
