Hi absolut_vodka, I got anxious while reading last late night and thought within 1Km needs balloting in Ngee Ann Pri. I even dreamt i got called up for PV.

Poor you...so stressed. But all the best.

[quote="absolut_vodka"]I read the charts as balloting for ‘1 - 2km’ and beyond 2km… no? Balloting within 1km is for Tao Nan.

Does anyone kbow my son born 2010 chances of entering Ngee Ann is good if i stay within 1KM?? Sigh... Why become so stress over primary registrations?????? :slapshead: :slapshead:

It won't be stressful if you are willing to consider other schools beside the hotly contested ones. There are a number of schools that don't required balloting in Tampines.

Ngee Ann Primary typically doesn't require balloting for SC < 1km, chances are good (but things may always change).

Ngee Ann Pri no need balloting within 1KM? I am definitely reading the chart wrong here http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/conte ... parade..... :nosebleed:

      Hello Flobby,

Because i am looking at affliated schools, i have two boys a year each. Affliated schools will save 1/2 a ton of my future headache. Tampines had a number of schools, better ones i am not within 2km. Average one and within 1KM bit no affliations. That means my headache will come again when they end their primary.....

Hi. Just tring to get an idea. I applied for PV in 3 different schools. within 1km, between 1-2 km and greater than 2km. Was rejected at all 3 schools. Anyone found it difficult getting a PV spot in schools for 2017 intake.

I was wiling to do more than required PV hours and in many different capacities but still rejected.
Is it because schools are cutting down on number of parents accepted for PV?
      🤷 :?

      Hi Grapvine,

I applied Temasek Pri and got rejected via letter. Also applied PV in Ngee Ann Pri. Called today and was told they are just starting to call up PV. I have a feeling i will be out because i live in Tampines. more than 2km from Ngee Ann Pri. So i went to \"pai pai\" ( offer my prayers hopingit will be answered, though my prayers are often left unanswered 😞 . Thus, thinking of moving near Ngee Ann Pri within 1KM if not called up for PV.

Btw i love this thread. Finally felt i have a place to pour my sorrows out... Husband flies so often i am left alone with two boys 2010 & 2011.

Both my children attend Great Beginnings in Joo Chiat for nearly 3yrs. Yes a change of principle and some teachers left, due to change of \"boss\". My kids are stayed throughout the change (students and school principle). The school environment and set-up is a big plus. I can understand the feelings of the parents when they announced changed of principle. Everyone was suddenly jolted out of their little comfort area. New principle so far managing fine. You have to see the environment first before deciding anyway. If nothing else big happening, my kids will continue with the school. Can see they are very comfortable there. Comm book is implemented with the change of principle. Previously parents will either send emails or catch the teachers for a brief scope of the child's progress.

      Hi Buds

Well well well, teacher is leaving for another school this May…i like her for the way she guides me son but she has lost her motivation in this school… So have to look around for another school which hopefully has more "certainty"… Going down to see Children Vineyard. According to them, incorporate Montessori and some US concepts…
Spoke to one of the director just now. This kindy has a more balanced curriculum (excursions/yearly concerts…) which i find is good for the little ones exposure… Also went to ermm SOKA,heard about them before? I like the overall of SOKA, but (yeah tere’s always a but), i thought i see some potential in my elder boy & believe he can pick up more in a Montessori setup. Though Children Vineyard is not total Montessori (but, again! Where to find full in Singapore?) anyway, i know i will feel i had robbed him of somehing if i sent him to other set up school…

      I wish I know what to do , soon…

My reno done, but i am slow and gets too little time to do more with no help thou living with MIL (she & i majiam stranger… I m closer to my neighbours!! Hey hey!). With hubby back only on wkends, i just want some time for myself by having a good long shower… & poo in peace… Hehe. Disgusting i know… But that’s real life ok. So far a mini toy/book shelf where my boys open & close its doors after they take a toy or book out (but need reminder with my younger one). I find its rather difficult when both r playing together, my young one kept messing with my older one when i am not watching… I have to cook, clean, feed & eveything else at home so can’t be watching them everytime… I cant figure out how to create a more struture time for them…

Elder one now can put on & remove his shoes, then wash his hands & put on his bagpack… I am a slave driver, i make them put their dirty laudry in the washing machine, make them clean the mess or spills with tissue and cloths… I guess that’s oso part of Montessori teachings huh…

Enuf of my "lor sor"… Noticed u changed ur avatar… Now feeling less heavy huh?

Noticed u changed ur avatar… not as heavy huh…

Heya Buds… Ur avatar "tooooo heavy" for my eyes…

Anyway back for some quick updates on my son’s progress in SunnyBunny Bedok.

It’s only 2 short weeks and i can’t tell much but my son seems to enjoy school. I do take a peep now and then (very curious n also wonders how my son is in schl), i can see the directress engaging him and the other 3 (now 2) students…(total 3 students in the class, 3 to 4yrs old mixed). Saw hin rolling the mat once n it was an cute image.

There’s no comm bk but i get feedbks frm the directress everyday coz i keep asking.
Cons: no field trips, less involvment with other kids, only one English speaking directress(frm south africa)
May need to reconsider sending him to schl where there focus on chinese.
Pros: Son has alot directress attention n guidance.

It’ll be a pity if i pull him out of the schl, but got think how to blend in the Chinese part… Can’t do w/o that.

PM the operator Anna but no response so well, gotto look around soon i guess
