    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      Can anyone help?

There were 180 girls and 150 boys in the Arts Theatre and 210 girls and 560 boys in the School Hall at first. After some boys and girls moved from the School Hall to the Arts Theatre, there were an equal number of boys and girls in the Arts Theatre and thrice as many boys as girls in the School Hall.
How many boys and how many girls were moved from the School Hall to the Arts Theatre?

      Hi belle08

Really depends on the quality of the childcare centre and the curriculum. There are childcare centres that prepare children well for primary school. Find out what the curriculum is for K1 and K2. Actually, the longer hours may allow children to learn at a slower pace. It may be a good thing that planned activities are provided to keep children meaningfully occupied throughout the day.

Important thing is that the child has a smooth transition from pre-school to primary school. But this does not mean teaching the child the primary one syllabus! Besides having a good foundation in the academic subjects, the child must be confident emotionally and socially.

You will have to find a school that is suited for your son. Widen your search beyond Tampines if you have to.

Can anyone advise? My son scored 218. Should I pick as first choice East Spring Sec Sch or Coral Sec Sch? Which one is better?

I think east spring is a better choice.
      East Spring -Band4 (L1B5=13)
      . AA - ā˜†ā˜†

      Coral - Not banded
      ā— AA (Academic Value-added) (Special/Express) - Bronze

and :thankyou: mathsparks - for taking the trouble to find me these info.

Thought I give it try, so I dropped by Coral Sec today (Sat). It was closed but - surprise, surprise - the guard at the gate has a son in East Spring. Found out some info from him regarding both schools. What an unusual source of info!

Popped by East Spring after that, but it was closed too. I'll definitely visit East Spring next week before Dec 2. I will also bring my son to see Ngee Ann Sec, which was his choice before the PSLE result. Hope he will take his studies more seriously from now. šŸ™
