To all parents who are seeking for a piano teacher
I'm Miss Lim, a qualified certified Dip-ABRSM Piano Teacher who has been teaching for the past 6 years.
This was where I first started with my journey as a piano teacher, parents who came to me were all from this forum.
So I would like to come back to where it all began for me and hereby, open up the available slots.
Most students under my coaching have either gotten a Merit/Distinction - that being said, it's varies according to how much work/effort
is put into practice from all 3 corners (students/parents/teacher)
However, grading results aside, I'm happier to say that all students under my care have grown to love music, to look forward to music lessons
because I believe ultimately, to appreciate & love music is the ultimate goal.
And when appreciation for music grows, it makes them all the more interested in learning more to be able to play songs that they love to.
My lessons are always a fair balance between maintaining a disciplined routine to build a strong solid foundation & fun catchy tunes.
So if you're looking for either grading examinations/leisure lessons for your children so that they would grow up to learn more on appreciation
for music, please feel free to reach out to me at the following.

Cheers & happy playing everyone! :rahrah:

RE: All About Choosing Piano Schools And Teachers
Dear all,
My name is Olivia
I've been teaching piano for the past 5 years ongoing to 6, since I graduated with ABRSM Diploma in Teaching at the age of 18 years old.
Personally, I have experience with young toddlers as young as 4 years old and I certainly welcome anyone who is interested to learn as my oldest student was 60 years old.
To every parent out there, should you be looking for a fun & engaging manner to develop & further nurture your child's interest in music & development, please feel free to contact me.
Personal's style of teaching would be bubbly, lively, enthusiastic & patient.
Less than traditional overly-strict teachers, I'm more of the interactive & fun-loving teacher.
I may be strict when necessary, however, I believe only when learning is fun & engaging - only will it make music learning more interesting for the kids.
I'm proud to say that I've a group of students that has followed me well throughout the 5 years & they certainly have also made their parents & me proud, by attaining MERIT & DISTINCTION awards for ABRSM Practical & Theory examinations.
Lastly, I take full pride in ensuring that my students learns & understands the full purpose & fun in the journey of music learning. At the same time, I feel happy to see my students improve gradually every week.
At this point of time, I believe as a parent, if you're still interested to learn more

Hi, in this event, I suppose you should consider switching him to individual lessons as of now. That is because eventually staying in the group lessons would bore the child out & besides, the amount of attention focused on your boy is very minimal since you mentioned that the teacher has to focus on other students' performance.Hi All,
My boy is cuurently with Yamaha, taking group piano lessons
and going for Grade 1 exam Next march.
He used to be very motivated to learn new songs but sadly
in a group setting, having to wait for other kids to catch up
with the 3 Grade 1 songs, he gets rather bored during lessons
and is not playing much at home.
I have asked his teacher to give him some new songs to learn
but to no avail and she needs to help the rest of the students.
So I am in a fix now, thinking what to do?
I am afraid he may lose interest in playing the piano as
time goes.
My boy prefers learning in a group but the rest are too slow
so the teacher can't teach beyond the 3 G1 songs.
Should I switch him to individual lessons?
But I will need to get a very good teacher who relates well
to children and knows how to motivate kids to learn.
And costs wise, which is more viable?
Anyone has any good advice to share?
Thanks in advance.
Your boy may seem to enjoy the group performance because it's a group session & is definitely much more lively than 1-to-1.
But if you don't try, you never know.
On top of that, if your boy is particularly interested in music - all the more you shouldn't be afraid of pushing him onto a private individual lesson!
Just sharing! Hope this helps
