Thanks for more suggestions.
Some days have been very good whilst others have been terrible :imdrowning, including yesterday. We made a chart,I tried offering money, stars but that doesn’t work with her. Currently we also go to a maths+english class on Saturdays- which she hates.
Worn out I told her if she truly wanted to go X school I would help her and if she didn’t, I told her to tell me now because I would stop pushing. She promised me she would stop being a baby and I’ll see how she if after school today to see if anything has sunken in. But I will try splitting the time more.

RE: Stressed parent
Thank you all for taking the time to reply. The weekend has been much better but not 100% perfect. :slapshead: I am glad to know that others find it a challenge too. I talked to her, saying that from now on if she wanted to watch tv or go on the computer she will have to earn the right first. We have tried also doing the work in bits- some in the morning followed by a long break then finishing the rest off later. Our home is never quiet but I am trying to just be alone with her.
Whilst I do think a private tutor would be best for my sanity- I feel I know her the best and home teaching fits better with our schedules.

Stressed parent
My daughter will be starting p5 next year, throughout this year i have started doing work with her at home.We do not do nearly as much as many other parents around 1.5 hours some days but less on others, but she is still so definant. We arrange a timetsble to start work but still she cries and runs away most of the time- wasting time. Some days she will work properly but others she will be terrible.Yesterday she promised she would start later because she had been on a trip and i agreed, but when the time came to sit down she kept on saying "later".We started but she could not concentrate, as kept on talking to brother - i got angry and left her and cried. We had visited the secondary school that day and the school was wonderful. I just fear she won’t gain a place as I know the level others are doing and I am tired of making her work when she does not listen. Can anyone offer any help?
