TKPS is having a new P for year 2014 and this person came from a relatively well known school. Change is happening at many levels from my understanding for the better. Management of the school seems better and teachers/students should be happier in yr 2014.

It seems like transferring at Lower Primary is harder in good schools (since it is so hard to enter in the first place) as no one is leaving unless they are going to a better school. If student is going overseas his seat will be kept vacant by leave of absence.


What other reasons will vacancy arise apart from existing student leaving to a better school at any Levels, leaving for GEP schools at P4, migration, etc…pls add to the list.

Has anyone been successful in transferring to a school further (>10km vs <2km) away from their current address? Is distance a very important factor for transfer cases?


My intention is to buy a place near the transfer school only if the transfer is successful which I will state in the transfer application.

I am trying to transfer my DD to a school with more emphasis on CCAs and DD is currently studying in a school very near to our home.

But I will be renting near the school as well after my sale. Current place and rental place are all within 1 km of school.

I am plaaning to sell my HDB flat but I want to use the address to register my child for a nearby primary school which is less than 1km. Is the Option to purchase, first appointment or second appointment use to decide my official address? I would suspect that it is the second appointment as that is when ownership of flat is changed. So I need to ensure that the second appointment is after July 12 in order to use my current address?
