We have been to the school open house prior but when asked on the COP for DSA (sport) is wasn’t shared by the HOD.


thank you everyone for comments, with basic estimation I think we are only few points less (-5) away of meeting the criteria if that does happen, definitely not 20-30 points. That leaves the school if it does give a CO / WL, with submission of p5-p6 results the school would had done calculation too. From observations we have seen the other school offer DSA for the sport with zero intake in 2018 admission yr… just wondering if the same will occur this yr. From friends, we’ve heard applicants with 180 have successful DSA for express stream only schools via sports DSA. Reason for DSA so our child can for once do a single sport and not continuously juggle like throughout primary school.

our view on DSA to NA school, if an alternative neighbourhood school offers DSA with a "tied" CCA - (duel CCA) and applicant is able to commit and has a track record in that discipline, school also is committed and supports student athlete, which applicant also falls between the gaps of NA / Express these are considerations. Moreover the school might not have a full cohort of 7-9 classes for sec 1 intake. If really depend on T-Score, will surely make the entry just that there might not be a place for the applicant if going via Sec1 posting.

I also want to ask - if kid have a CO but must qualify for express stream and my kid gets 190 (can choose express / normal) - can he still use the CO assuming he chooses the express stream?

If the child falls in the range between normal and express, he/ she can still use the CO. Just that you will then need to indicate the preferred stream. Just bear in mind, that if your believe your dc to be borderline type, make sure you choose a realistic school choice otherwise the child will actually \"suffer\" as they might be constantly behind.

wanted to ask the same but different scenario, dsa to school with express only as it was the only school offering the CCA child is pursuing. With local and international merits, leadership for CCA we think it's a good chance but academically might not meet the COP of the school. If the school does offer the CO or WL is it dependable on PSLE results? First DSA for us and read thru days 300 pages here for likely answers .....
