Thank you too phtthp. Really appreciate the clear info.
While the new policy has reduced the likelihood of us appealing, we discussed and thought it best to stay put to cater to unforeseen posting matters... so

RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting
I have an enquiry of a slightly diff nature. We're planning to go overseas after PSLE results are out, returning on 1 Jan 2017. I understand we can submit sec school choices online and a proxy can report to the posted sec school a day after posting results are out. Problem is, should we need to appeal, can appeals be submitted online or by a proxy too?
ie, can parents+child not be present in singapore at all during sec 1 posting+appealing phase? (otherwise, we have to cancel vacation
)
bonus question: may I know how uniforms and sec school books are arranged (are they sold in the sec school only on reporting day? etc..) so we can make necc arrangements in advance.
Thanks in advance. -
RE: Where to buy recorder (musical intrument)?
Exactly.
Anyway… DS couldn’t find out anything new. We happened to be at Junction 8’s Popular and found one for $3 so just bought that.
For info to other parents, some time after that I happened to be at Plaza Sing so checked out Yamaha, but didn’t see any recorders. So better call Yamaha branches to check if you want to buy their recorders. -

You're right. Yup will see what we can find out today.
But will the one you get elsewhere be any better? You might want to ask the teacher to recommend brands that she approves of, and also where to get them.
Sigh.. the teacher really should have given the kids more information, esp since the recorder is needed next monday. It used to be that teachers would order for the classes, which would save parents the scramble and ensure all use the same set. -

Popular book shop should have. You can call them before heading down.
Really? Ok cool, thanks alot -
RE: Where to buy recorder (musical intrument)?
My DS needs one for school, but the music teacher told them the one from their school bookshop is not recommended. So hope to get some quick advice on where can we get one.
TIA! -

June Holiday Enrichment - Swimming
Does anyone know of any good beginner swimming programmes for 6-7 yo during the June holidays? Prefer the more compact schedules since no school on wkdays, e.g daily for 10 days at 2 hrs each, with some break in between.
Not sure if anyone has come across. TIA
