There is a school bus provider during orientation day. Else can search grab shuttle and find a suitable route. I have created one from Bt Panjang to St. Theresa’s Convent. They can start a trip if there’s enough people.

Hi ample6663, can share more with me on this trip that you mentioned?

      Hi cherry gal

So only after we receive the good news then inform the current sch, then how soon the child can attend sch will depends on new sch?
No reason was given for my case. In fact, two parents (me and another one) were doing the withdrawal at the same time. I bought all books and 3 sets of uniforms and 2 sets of PE for the previous sch. Most of the books (except for Chinese) are all different but all that won't matter much if u can get into the desired sch, don't u think so!

Results got back....bad....not to expectations. HCL fail.

All only A not even A star. This Thursday PTM. All comments repeated every year ,'yr kid is intelligent, talkative, he can excel if he focus.' I wonder does the teacher know how to unleash my kid's potential or not.
June holidays have to go for acupuncture session on my kid's head liao.
What is the range of marks for A star, A and B?

Qualifying is 80% for academic. No mention of top 5% of level or whatever so where did that come from? Perception?

Students who are from GEP with average 80% and above will be exempted for GAT for RGS, NYGH and RI, if I remember correctly.

Top 5% of whole level is by past years observation by reading this threat. 😂

If comparing only GEP, then that might be true, as GEP students will most likely form top 5% of the school anyway.
May I ask, what is CO?

If non-GEP, then my feel is that the top 5% might not be that true.....example being in NYPS top maybe 30 - 40% might be even be equal to top 10% of other schools....

Anyway no harm trying, my DS got 2 COs even with results at 80% marks..... :)[/quote]

Kids who sat for PSLE last year are in sec 1 now...busy with new environment, tougher subjects and unpredictable hours.

Last year's PSLE was tough...being dragon year...this year may not be as crazy. Cop will probably be reduced. This mid year is the first exam. Hope our kids are confident and do well. All the best :rahrah:

Hubby just told me about this talk about PSLE described as a high stakes exam. It IS !!! Honestly, it's ridiculous to make kids be aware how important PSLE is. Most are 11 or 12...what do they know? It's more stressful for us parents when kids are not the least worried. We spend a lot of money on tuition to make sure they are ready...bcos getting past year paper done one set after another is just to expose them to different format/questions. Answers are sometimes not explained...then when they face another school exam with similar type of questions, answers are wrong again. Is this the 'technique' schools adopt to prepare their students for PSLE???
But which employer will ask for the PSLE result?

      NY1969:
Side track a little bit. Hubby got $80 voucher. Hubby saw lists of participating outlets and thought it was a good deal to go Hua Ting Restaurant for tim sum lunch. For a family of 5 and for the same amt of tim sum plus noodle ordered in crystal jade, the bill end up to be $130, $60 more than wat is in crystal jade. Hubby left restaurant wondering its a mistake to select a expensive restaurant rather than buying something more economical.

Why some received $100 and others $80 but dh only got $20???
      Why is there a difference?

if i give in to his request to play nintendo ds, he will use the same tactic again if his classmates get to play wii. our agreement is NO hand-held games during school term. this week, he has 3 or 4 tests (can't remember bcos i'm quite hands-off with his work)...which is why i am mad when he mentioned playing ds. already 13 and in sec 1, but still as playful.

Janet, boys never grow up. Just look at the L size one we have at home.

      :rotflmao: I agree with that!
