Just bought a Fisher & Paykel 7.5kg front load washer, the J1 model at Best Takashimaya, they have the offer now, usual offer price is $999, now $949 less 8% include delivery, quite worth it.

Top load. Just to check if there is any difference?

I normally buy the cheapest or near cheapest ones.
Before I bought the first front load washer, I use to buy the top load washer, but when my panasonic top load washer died at 15 years, I start to search through and find that although the top load is comparatively cheaper and more lasting, but the front load do less harm to clothing and save a lot in water consumption so I turn to my first front load machine, fisher paykel but it last only for 4 -5 years. My next washer will also be front load as I think the front load washer is better.

Try other retailers. I just bought my 8kg Korean brand washer end November after my Japanese brand died on me. It is close to 8 years old. New washer costs around $400 before discount.

After netting points and vouchers, below $300.
Bro, are u talking about a top load model or front load ? I am looking at front load model, if your model is a front load, care to share the model number ?

My 4 - 5 years old front load 7kg Fisher Paykel just dead, Last time we bought it at about 800 but now the similar model had already cost ~1050, thinking of changing to a cheaper one between 500 - 800, any recommendation for a lasting front load machine, no need to be very fancy wash, just basic with hot water will do.

Anyone here use the Zujiroshi BB-HAC10 making the Jam? I had try to make orange jam for two time and all turn out to be waterly but still good to eat. However, I want to make the jam thicker and I look at the recipe online and it said start the jam process again when jam turn too waterly. But when I press the start/stop button for 5 sec until the digital readout turn to the original setting of 3:40, then I press the jam button and start, this time the jam button is blinking and digital readout show hot and off and the time is 1:20 but the jam process do not run at all even 10 or 20 min later, the time is still 1:20 and I cannot redo the jam process. Anyone use this machine to make the jam before pls comment.

Last time I use the normal breadmaker and I find the the crust is sometime too dark or thick, then I adjust the time of bake by switching off before the end. Just for an example, when making a smaller bread which I put only 250g of flour, I will only bake for about 1/2 hr or 40 min instead of 1 hour preset by the machine. May be u can try this method.

      Just my 2 cents

      Hi,

Can i check what brand of yeast do most of you use? I am currently using the 1 from red man in my breadmaker and my mum is complaining that it has a very heavy yeasty smell.

Would organic brand of yeast have lesser of this problem? The amt of yeast my recipe use is 5g. Tia.
normlly for 450g of bread ( ie 250g of flour + 165g of water ), I use 3g of yeast. I think sometime can't follow the manual from the breadmaker manufacturer, I had make bread for the 1st year which according to the manual and my wife don't eat it until I follow another recipe ( a japanese version but from taiwan publisher ) then she eat the bread.
