    • RE: BOOK Fairs

      Bochapmum3:
For tombow correction tape refill, any good discount at book fest? Usual price is $17.65 for a box of 10.

We bought Toyo brand. 20 pieces in a box for $15.20. No q at cashier at 7pm last Friday. But Long queue at redemption counter for vouchers ( after payment). And yes, vouchers hardly can use one, so many restrictions, tried last year and could not use them to buy anything at stores. No point queuing for the vouchers if you are in a hurry. Maybe their business is not that good now, sell so many appliances nowadays.

Besta is not there this round, but Creative is. For those who want to buy e/dictionary. We did not check out the price though. We bought the latest model of calculator there too, Casio fx 97 SG X , $26. Usually about $2 cheaper than normal days / school bookshop.

I have uploaded the latest 2018 prelims papers. Hope it helps

      http://www.mathsplusmore.com/free-exam-papers/primary-6-exam-papers/
I wanted to download the ‘free’ papers and realised that they have been taken down due to the below:
      http://www.mathsplusmore.com/2018/09/04/taking-down-of-2018-prelims-papers/

Just curious, does the vendor really have a case against the tutor in a legal sense, who was just sharing the papers ‘free’’ so as to speak. Any lawyer mummies here can advise? My take is ‘no’, as the vendor does not ‘own’ the papers as well, since the papers ‘belong to the schools’. Not sure if I am correct?

Has been reading this thread past few days and it’s been moving too fast for me to catch up on some days. Thank you all, for the sharing, and congratulations as well. 🙂

Anyone received CO or WL for RGS or NYGH maths / science domain or heard of friends who received this? Possible to share some profiles of successful candidates, as I don’t seem to hear any success case amongst my friends yet.

I think I only saw Nadini.sriv and pashio636 postings that their dd received WL for RGS maths domain earlier? Possible to share some profile with us? Thank you very much.

    • RE: All About Math Olympiad Training & Questions

I am a noob in MO area and need some advice on the below.

My child has great interest in maths and has requested to try an external MO course repeatedly.
When selecting a suitable MO training centre / trainer, what are the factors I should consider? I have no clue which is ‘better’ too even after browsing through sample materials at the counter…
Is it better to go for a MO centre group class, or 1 to 1 under a trainer?
Also, it seems that different centre specialize in different competitions, so how do we tell which one is more suitable for the child for a start?
      Thanks!

OT: There is Hai Di Lao Hot Pot in IMM.

Anybody been there? Are the charges per person or otherwise?
Went to the one at orchard before. Price is by per portion per dish. For small eater, order half portion will do. Need to pay for soup base too. Service is super but my opinion is food not exactly fantastic. They do your nails for you too while waiting and gave freebies like hair band, butterfly wings for tutu skirt and balloons to kids so in the end my child enjoyed her meal the most rather than us. Free fruits and drinks while waiting too.
