Just to add on from my previous post...hope it helps in making the choices that best suit you.
Communication booklet gets exchange weekly, not daily. No homework after school/weekends. Materials are all original & colored, not photocopied like most Kindy. Unsure if that's one reason for the steeper fees........
The year-end concert costume was charged at $50, and compulsory attendance for all students. Chargeable concert ticket at $20/each, each child are allowed 2tickets accompanying adults, extra requests chargeable at $20 via booking. Venue is at Dover ACJC.
The school term programme in Term 4 is slightly more interesting, as the Nursery kids gets to visit the Hydropolic Farm. And learn more about them, transfers more reasonable at $13. In comparison to visitation to Community Centre in Yew Tee at $16.
Playground area, is behind the school. Shared space with Learning Vision Child Care. A good shady place from heat of the Sun and rain...
They're 4 choices of Holiday Camps to choose from, chargeable at $255, a duration of 5days, in November. If sign up for 2camps, siblings get -10%.
IMHO, there must be a good value to what we parents pay for our kids education that shows result. Parents are well informed group of people because there's such platform as Kiasu Parents.
Kinderland Crestar SS Place, are you reading me? Yes? Very good.
Here's what I think, there's a teacher teaching English with loud booming commanding voice, I really hope she'd tone down
. It's hardwork being a teacher, but parents too aren't having it easier
The best part, my kid is speaking a lot more of Mandarin. Am making constant effort to remove \"lar\" in all his conversation.
Would have been great if Sunshine Place Management team fix up a huge ceiling fan like the once in MRT...it is VERY WARM, while we parents stand outside school, to pick our kids.

Here's what I know and what I think of the school, the new principal Mrs Peh has replaced Ms Judy since end June 2014.
Term fees $1155.60, existing students yearly registration $214, for joining siblings $288.90 (deposit+registration fees). Chinese Immersion Programme (CIP) $342.40. ESDC English Speech and Drama Course $225 and there's the uniforms $23+/kinderfit $20++. Graduation photo, chargeable! Concert costume chargeable! DVD/Concert tickets chargeable! (I would assume, they'll tell parents NO PHOTO TAKING allowed, wait and see)
My son attended from Term 2 onwards, he doesn't speak a word of Mandarin, but under Ms Yang, he is improving, however slowly. English being the spoken language for the family, and just moved back from Australia, my son's picking up Singlish
He met some friends :snuggles:
The school has a cheerful environment and it is air conditioned.
I've raised my concern to Mrs Peh to be discussed with the \"owner\" over letting kids to have an \"indoor slippers\" to be worn to toilets for hygiene. Kids wore shoes into the waiting area then walked barefooted everywhere, including toilets. (My kid caught HFMD from the school, reported to teacher after Dr's visit next door) off course I was immediately escorted into a waiting room. (I concluded their fear was my feedback would affect other parents who came during Parent Teachers' Meeting.) After, a week period, the answer I got from Mrs Peh, the Principal was \"my boss don't agree..scared kids step on each others slippers and can fall.\" My point here exactly, that's where and why teachers guide them to toilets so they walked in single file. But when in toilet cubicle, they're alone, can the teacher monitor if there'd be any contact to urine/fecal matters anywhere? That's where slippers come in useful and washing of hands. Storage, is simply into the same cubicle where their shoes are. Easy peasy, eh?
I posted a question to Mrs Peh, why do you adults wear slippers all over the place?? Why not be barefooted too?
My conclusion is the school is charging a lot of miscellaneous fees. To a Yew Tee Community Centre, a kid is charged $16. Bus fare 2 bus stop away, charges $82/monthly. Is that pricey, or reasonable? Please share.
The school takes care of their shareholders, but has neglected the importance of parents feedback and choice to put their kids there that generate their revenues.
I wonder why Kinderland chose ACJS Auditorium for the year end concert?
