      Tks for clarification, Greenbelt.

Yup, RSS tender evaluation sucks for this. A lot of pp/kids will be affected. I'm foreseeing that the upcoming PTC in Jan won't be a pleasant encounter for the P and VP.

Maybe the P and VP don't have many options to choose from in the first place as a lot of bus companies are switching to ferrying workers and so forth as it is more profitable....

      I agree with FantasyLandDreams.
In 2013, I had seen the previous operator ferrying workers at 6 pm around Tampines area. And he was still able to make it to school to fetch the afternoon session pupils at 630pm.
      Maximum utilisation of the bus.

Some things are beyond the school’s control. However, I am confident the school works very hard to resolve any problem that they are aware of. This year, the VPs even followed the buses to understand why the route takes longer than usual. They even supplied goodies bag to feed the children.

I kind of like the new printing. For words that have to be read together, the hypy spacing is close to each other. It helps in traininig the correct pronunciation.

My boy is in 1 Service.

So sad the tea session is only for 1st time parents. 😢

PhoBIA, is the tea session good? you attended before?

2 yrs back, I got lots of questions to ask.. The tea session was with the form tr. The kids were entertained in another room with craft work while we chatted with the form teachers.
I won't mind attending again but they say it's for 1st time parent only..... wonder why....🤷 my ds2 is first time student though.

\"让小一生同步学习拼音和汉字\" - been longing for this. I believe character recognition is very important for learning chinese, now I hope they can teach more about character strokes so that children can write proper and nicer chinese characters. I cringe each time I see my kids writing wrong strokes, 瞥becomes 点, 弯沟 becomes 竖沟, 口 becomes a box. It is very hard to change their writing habits once they enter P3/P4.

That is provided the kids are lucky enough to get a strict teacher. Not all teachers puts a lot of emphasis on strokes.
For my 2008 boy, I have to sit beside him when he's writing Chinese to make sure he's writing the correct strokes.

Hmmm reading from the above, it seems that the current batch of p1 (born in 2007) would be the last batch to use the old textbooks? Yes?

Yes. There is pros and cons.

2007 born though is last batch to take the old syllabus, will have added advantage that they have top school papers to practise on.

The new Chinese syllabus will be appealing and interesting but I predict will be harder when comes to exam.

The P6 pupils this year are the last batch to take the old syllabus English paper. The old English syllabus paper is easier to score compared to the new English syllabus. Good luck to the batch of P6 pupils who are taking the new PSLE new syllabus next year.

Some of the sec 1 and sec 2 English components were incorporated in the new English syllabus. You have to read through the Sec 1 and 2 textbooks to know what I'm referring to. (previously Sec 1 and 2 students were required to purchase).

Now, I'm even more saddened by the change. Initially, I thought of only not able to use the textbook pass down by my older boy. Now, the thought that the exam may be harder and there's no past year paper to practise is even worse. 😓
