    • RE: All About ABRSM Grades & Support

      Hi gar gar,

Last year, the result was published 9 days after the exam. This year for the July-sept batch, it was published 21 days after the exam. Generally around 3 weeks for online results when it comes to practical exam. School will take some time to consolidate.

    • RE: 97% of Singaporean students are enrolled in tuition in 2008

Some kids are very smart but majority are not, that’s why extra tuition are not necessary for them. Some have parents to guide them at home so they do not go for tuition. Even school teachers let their kids attend tuition.

Not that we are kiasu, but most times the kids are not really taught how to answer many of the challenging questions especially at higher levels.

Oh yes, compositions are not often not regularly/properly taught in schools(except for some good teachers) but kids are expected to know well.

I will kudos to any parent who thinks tuition is not necessary to do reasonably well and has never bought any assessment books/exam papers and solely depends on schools for teaching, especially those with kids from P3 onwards. Many parents who send kids to tuition are happy enough if the kids can get more than 65/100 from P5 onwards.

It is ironically sad we need to depend on external teaching. Which parents wouldn’t want extra savings and time?

    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos

Hi, thanks for the input. My boy tried k8 again yesterday and told me the tone is muffled somehow. I think yus5 sounds clearer than k8. We tried petrof but I still prefer to play on schimmel. Maybe we will try petrof again. Any other pianos to recommend? 🙂

    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos

Hi, I am torn between these three choices. Which should I choose? Our budget is about 20k for an upright. I am quite keen on Schimmel but my child prefers K8. YUS5 is cheaper and easier to produce a nice tone it seems, but I thought technically it will not be good since it is easier to play. I need it to do up to diploma in 4 years time. Not going for grand piano because we may need to move to another place. Greatly appreciate any input.

    • RE: Q&A - P1 English

Thanks qms! I knew the answer but I thought with so many changes everywhere lately, schools are teaching different things now so i also have to reform haha. My child is P1. She wrote the whole sentence in her compo but teacher wanted her to put ‘s’. DD is a very avid reader so she came home telling me she is sure her verb is right. Hopefully the teacher was just careless in her marking!

    • RE: Q&A - P1 English

The girl made me CRY. (Correct)

      It should not be cries.
      I understand the above.

      My question is:

      1. I see a dog balance a ball on its nose.
      2. I see a dog balances a ball on its nose.

      Which is correct?

Really appreciate if someone can advise. :?:

Thank you very much Dreamaurora. I really appreciate your input and I can at least have more options to do to my space.
