    • RE: DSA 2017

      Hi,

I’m 1st time applying DSA for my boy this year. Would like to check :
      1) Let’s say we applied for 3 schools, after the results are announced & all 3 got either CO/WL, must we indicate our preference for all the 3 schools or can we just select 2 schools?
      2) If eg DS put sch A as 1st choice but is under WL, then sch B as 2nd choice but is under CO, how will the school allocate ? Will he still be able to get into sch B if sch A is not successful? Then if both also didn’t get in, will MOE allocate or he can still chose?

Thanks v much for the help!

      Tbsp,

Wow tat teacher really seems good! She email u everday including photos? My boy’s P1 & P2 teacher (same form teacher) never do that before leh. Guess it’s really luck whether you get a good teacher or not. But even so, my boy still prefer his form teacher over his MT teacher. I can see his form teacher is also more patient w him (or can tolerate him better hee). Just tat come to his MT, it’s really headache! Its like he hates MT class now. Really dono how to talk him out of it.

      Piggybank,
Ya I also think it’s better to allocate more patient teacher to lower pr since these kids just join pr sch so should hv more patient w them while they learn to adapt to pr sch life. Heard tat my son MT teacher used to teach upper pr but now teaching lower pr as the sch is trying to give her a ‘variety’ of experience. Not sure is it cos she used to be strict in upper pr , now also do the same in lower pr, but somehow i feel if she can be more flexible mayb it would be better. She did told me she’s trying to bring up the standard in my boy’s class. But then they r only P2 , I feel it’s more impt to capture their interest in the subject now rather than pushing them too hard till they dislike the subject? Just my opinion.

Oh really? But Diamond is the top class so don’t think my boy will ever get into it.

Hmm seems like that those good teachers are usually assigned to those top classes? haii like tat my boy will never have the chance then. I don’t need him to go to the best class , i just hope he can get a good & patient teacher who hopefully can manage him better.

    • RE: All About ADHD : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

      Hi mummies,

Need some support & advices here. My son is P2 this yr & his teachers had feedback that he is too active & keep walking in the class. I had known that he has been a very active child since young ,as his preschool teacher aso feedback his attention span is very short, but tot that was q normal for a young kid then.
But nowadays the feedback from his pr sch teacher is getting more & seems like they are hinting to me that he may b ADHD but they just did not say it out.
And worse is my boy will rebuke his teacher when they ask him why he keep walking, he just answer ’ becos everybody says i’m active what ! ‘. Seems like he himself had started to label himself as active since everyone keep saying it. When i ask him why he can’t stop walking he just said ’ I don’t know, I cannot control.’
It hurts me to see him like this, as if everybody despise him & teacher is biased on him as well. He became more bad-tempered & rebellious & start to talk back.
So I decided to bring him for an assessment, now still waiting for the 1st appointment.
Understand that sweet stuff is not good for hyperactive kids, but my boy is like a sweet craze! His fav food are all sweety stuff. So now really hv to limit all these sugary stuff but i know if i stop completely, it will kill him! (as he’s just too used to it). So anyone know where can i get healthy snacks in replacememt for the sweet stuff ? Is organic food ok?
