Yes, Aussie dollar weakening can bring us opportunity in property investment, holidays or even a better time for overseas studies if desired. I dont think Aussie currency will be at the current level and it may drop further in 2016. :boogie: Check the below two posts out:

In my earlier posts, i mentioned about the pros of REIT investment.

With the recent announcement of better job data in US, i reviewed and post my take for REIT investment in the second half of 2015 and 2016.

    • RE: How to develop self motivation in children?

Somehow, my son is lacking of motivation in academic learning while my daughter is always keen to learn more. They are totally different while both my wife and myself are all doers and set by examples.

Both of us concluded that girls are probably quicker in learning.

    • RE: My child still can't write a proper sentence... pls advise

Any idea how to encourage positive reading habits ?

My son does not appear to love reading. This causes his poorer communication skills in the school or even at home.

    • RE: All About Handwriting

For my case, both my P3 boy and daughter’s handwriting is very neat and tidy. My boy was awarded the best pen-manship in his P1 level. We as their parents have never really guide them how to write it neatly. It is just natural of them to do so.

However, my boy’s academic learning ability is a bit slower than his peers. This brings another set of worry to us.

It depends on whether your priority is on children’s well being or to have stable household income.

For me, i leave it to my wife’s decision to be a housewife take care my K2 daughter and P3 boy in terms of their well being and schoolwork. Now it is already approaching more than 5 years with this decision made and i never regret about it. She did a good job!

Yes, it is all about educating young kids to get out of rat race.

Rather than lecture, kids may be able to absorb faster or appreciate better through the board game.

My kids (6 & 8 yrs old) are quite good in playing adult monopoly now.

See an article regarding this game.

    • RE: Why SIBOR went up?

SIBOR up 13.5% but SOR is 233.5%…therefore…those in SOR may have to think of refinancing…

Monitor Federal Reserve’s rate…likely to increase in 2015.

    • RE: SRS

Singapore Private Property market has been trending down for past 5 quarters since Q3-2013. See http://propertyinvestmentsingapore.sg/b ... ice-index/

However, the REITS i owned e.g. suntec reits and first reits are still performing well. Quarterly dividends are money you can see regularly....
though SRS money cannot be withdrawn before retirement age.

Not just investing in any reits but those with higher distribution yields, lower gearing ratio, buy below net assets value (NAV) and type of reits.

If the debt level of REITS is lower, the impact of rising interest rate will be lesser. Having said that, rising interest rate will impact many other things too.

If the money is to be parked in SRS to reduce tax, the investment period will be for long term....reits may be a better bet to compound....

      :celebrate:
