Does anybody know how the T-score is calculated when there are only three subjects? My kids are exempted MT, so only EMS... then how?

Those who are taking 4 subjects will be divided by 4 x 3. Since your kid is already base on 300, you don't have to use the same method. All the best to your child's coming PSLE ! :rahrah:

Mummy so kiasu, T-score not computed this way. You can see the formula from the front page - there is not base on 300. Most people ise the \"divide by 4 multiply by 3\" to compute the T-score cos some schools do not provide mean / standard deviation. However, the accurate way to compute will be to use the mean and standard deviation of each individual subjects to compute, and add up the 4 subjects T-score to get the total T-score.
That is my understanding too. Some schools share the formula openly with the kids/parents. I wonder if there is one for kids who are exempted from MT.

      kspassing:

Oh, mine are both Dyslexic. I think need to have an official psychologist's report and recommendation for exemption. Usually for children with special needs like dyslexia, autism, etc... Those are the more common reasons I think. But it's not automatic. They must prove with tests that the child is really struggling with one language already, and usually they must already be doing badly in MT. My kids got their exemption in pri 2, my son was failing badly, my daughter was struggling to even pass.

Another reason for exemption is having lived overseas for more than 2 yrs, and not having received instruction in MT comparable to Singapore's standard. Both my kids come under that category.

I also asked about T-score based on 3 subjects, but it seems that those who know can't say, and no-one else knows.

Our kids are also exempted. The same reason as slmkhoo. I have also asked but answers given are always vague. So if anyone knows, please share.

      Agree with Leeven. šŸ˜„
The ACSI boys do look like they have a lot more fun. Haven't seen many muggers there. Great sense of humour and eloquent speakers. Definitely looks more relaxed..
And this is coming from ex-Rafflesian šŸ˜„

Anyone receive any news from SJI? I heard VS interview is very challenging and stressful, facing a panel of 8 interviewers. I remembered when I have my job interview, facing 3 interviewers already made me nervous. šŸ˜“

I heard from my friend whose DS applied to VS.. He faced a panel of 4 and was asked to construct a model representing the education (in the view of DS). Also asked something to the effect on his views on diseases as nature's way of controlling the world population. Tough questions if I may say for a 12 year old or anyone for the matter! šŸ˜“

oh, I think this Zodiac thingy doesn't work on our \"Singapore Daddy\" cos he's born in Year of Pig.
      šŸ˜„

Yukilei, you mean former MM LKY right?

My colleague thinks those born in the Year of the Pig are usually very fortunate and live a blessed life with boundless opportunities, always meeting the right people at the right time. She made that conclusion after analysing several of her relatives who are born in this zodiac sign.

I read http://www.chinesezodiac.com/pig.php, I find this statement fits former MM LKY quite aptly. Other descriptions, I am not too sure. šŸ™‚

I am beginning to feel the heat again.

Lucky for us - there is a standing order on a prescription for thermal mud bath for all KP parents.. guaranted to work against wrinkles, prevent white hair... I heard it is cooling and a wonderful stress reliever as well! šŸ˜‚
