Asking about science dsa, for those got CO for IP schools science dsa, may I know what’s the criteria to get it? Have consistent good school results (above 90 in p5 & p6) sufficient? Or must have achievements in the science competitions? How to get prepared for science dsa?

For my dd, she had a merit in science olympiad last year. Her marks fluctuate between high 80s and low 90s. No masterclass nor E2K program. I have read in previous postings that some kids had no competition experiences but were still selected and offered. Wish there is a teacher who could shed some light in this.

I think the performance in the selection test matters more. My girl didn’t prepare for it as we did not know what would be tested.

      Hope this helps. 🙂

My dd’s EL teacher too told her to field her questions to her tutor cos we are paying the tutor. 😓

Prelims will end tomorrow for us.

No wonder some kids looked happy, while a couple looked ‘meh’… there were more questions asked during CL oral than EL, is this the norm?

First batch is out. Waiting for second batch to trickle out. Trying to see the kids’ expressions to gauge if the oral went ok or not. 😉

“Most of the students who need tie-breaking would be tie-broken by the first two tie-breakers of citizenship and choice order of schools. The vast majority of students will not need tie-breaking by balloting. Based on past cohorts’ choice patterns, about 9 in 10 students would not need to go to the balloting stage. The eventual balloting figure will depend on the choice patterns of students.“

I wish there are some concrete figures to support this declaration. This need to ballot makes me jittery. If you don’t get your first choice due to balloting bad luck, who knows how far in your list the posting will eventually drop to!

Hi, first time dsa parent here. Just received notification for maths for RGS.

Would be wonderful to hear about previous selection process for RGS maths from experienced parents. Thank you!

I’m looking for a reliable part time helper as well, for Ghim Moh area. Anyone with recommendations, please pm me.

Will NOT recommend June Ang as a part time helper from domesticOne. First session she turned up, 2nd session she claimed her whole body was aching, 3rd session she did not turn up. On contact, she said she did not want to work anymore as my place is too far from hers.

I was left stranded with no help on that day. Very irresponsible so beware.
