Hi Mummies,

Did your received the name tags through mail? I received a sms saying they will not deliver the tag as alot got lost. The sms state they will let shanghai uniform to distribute the name tag, but when I went to ask them they say no, is not with them. Is probably with the office.I was rushing off so I didn’t go to the office as I dont’ know where is the office.

So any mummies actually claimed from the office?

The name tags are iron on type but if you want it to be more lasting, do give a few stitches along the border la.
As for the shoes, at first I just bought 1 for my DD from the school, then I bought another Mary Jane type for her. Both last for about 9 months and I had to get new ones. From my friends experience, usually boys shoes are damaged easier la. Some of my friends had to get new shoes for their DS every 2 months, while the girls shoes can last around 6-9months.

Do start looking out for socks too. those white surface with black/navy/grey base is great. Another thing that I bought for my children is raincoat with schoolbag slot and it's in their schoolbag everyday cause I don't drive. You might wanna get shoes cover too.

And yes, on the orientation day they will tell you
- what time to report on the 1st day
- where should the children report to
- what are the books/file to be bring to sch
- what happen during recess (teacher will bring them down and also guide them on how to buy food)
You know parents can be monitor from a distance for the 1st 3 days of school, so what I did was 1st 2 days I prepared food for my DD. But on the 3rd day, I didn't. I told her to start her purchasing of food from school where I can see how she is & where can be improve.
- school dismissal time and what happen at school dismissal
- you will also be inform the name of the form teachers handling your child's class

Thanks for the advise.. I'm abit gan jiong as now is yr end season, busy period @ office + plus i scare if wait till late nov to dec, all parents are buying the same school stuffs which caused out of stocks.. so whatever i can pre-prepare, i will quickly prepare..
i was thinking to buy 2 pairs of shoes since the shoes are black.

Oh, the shoes are black? ok won't get dirty easily...

Thanks for the update. I could have missed out the name tag stall (did saw the lady there), tot she was with the uniforms.

The rest of book lists are correct in my purchase.. Was wondering is it a must to bring all subject books on the 1st day of school? Coz from what i saw from the school website for this yr P1, they did not need to bring all books except story book on the 1st day.

How many pair of school shoes will u guys purchase?

I think we don't need to worry about this so early ba. 28 orientation day will know..hehe..
I will probably get 3. They play and dirty easily and raining days alot sometimes, shoes just won't dry. 3 can forget to wash sometimes..haha..2 must wash conscientiously.

The sales of name tag beside the uniform stall only eh... a table by herself. mayb you thought is sales if uniform table? or she is not there on fri? I went on thurs. I forgot to check english books...oopss (books not with me now)... but I think since the sound book 1&2 occupy one row only on the list, shd be one book only? all other book 1&2 occupy 2 rows.

Haha....Hi five mummychan....my boy at 1sapphire! Went to buy the books yest. I didn't bring my boy there, so didn't buy uniform. They say cannot change if size wrong. No choice buy next month then.

I registered online and contacted the student care before I went also, seem like there is unlimited vacancy....haha...heng...but I thought can use child development acc to pay....but cannot...

Yes, everything must pay in cash!!!! I am like huh....who bring so much cash...In the end went to oppsite side of the sch sheng song to cash out...

jialat. no leh. before I even register for the school I wanted to register for the student care already. But they say must register for the school first, confirmed get in then register for student care. Since that time you said need class no. and I tot student care is just every student normally have, is either want or don't want only. So didn't go and look again, until recently, thinking go see see and abit dont' feel right, then start to msg here. Last fri, I just register only after LLL_family long helpful post..hehe...Think I go bang wall liao, if no vacancy..完蛋。。。hope this few days will receive email from them.
