Thank you... I just curious for validation šŸ˜›
I was asking for my friend's son. He is Singaporean and RI was his 1st choice.
      Yeah... balloting really needs luck...
similar situation. AL 6 as Singaporean and1st choice, my DS ballot out from RI and got in HCI as second choice.

Is it possible to add Gender ratio at this chart? As this is quite important factor for COP for those boys or girls IP schools. This is the first year for AL system. As presumption, normally girls did better in language course as English and MTL while boys can catch up with high score with Math and Science. But for this year, 90 and 99 is no difference. There will be high chance COP of girls school lower than previous year. If the chart can provide more info for the gender ratio , it will be helpful

Uhh... It's a bit late now, as the poll is going to be shut down within a couple of hours. There has already been some hacking of this simple poll by some very free people :siao: So your request will have to wait another year. Sorry.

yup. It seems to add some restrictions for the same IP to vote multiplies next year also.

Some of the confusion over choice order and merit (AL score) is probably caused by a misestimate of the # of AL4 and AL5 students. If we assume the total % of AL4 + AL5 students is 3%, that translates to 1173 students. Of these, I guess at least half would already be admitted through DSA. That leaves about, let's say, 600 to go through S1 posting. Divide that by half gives 300 boys and 300 girls (more likely 200 boys vs. 400 girls). Unless they all somehow choose the same school as their first choice, then there is no possibility that AL4 or AL5 would not get into their first choices.

As many have said, no school has a COP below AL6. No point worrying about those lucky ones with AL4 and 5 -- they will all get in their first choice, while still leaving spaces (not sure how many though) in every school for the rest.
Basically this is quite true. But one factor to consider is the gender ratio. As for the AL system, it is more \"friendly\" to those did well with all subjects than did excellent in just two subjects. So the Boy vs Girls ratio might be factor which could cause the COP of girls lower than previous year. Probably there will be COP of AL5 school for girls IP school.

      Edit:
Please contribute to this poll as we are trying to establish the overall general AL scores of children all over Singapore, NOT considering the school. This will give some idea of what kind of balloting that you might face at a certain AL level when you apply for a secondary school.

This poll is kindly being administered by our user putien.

Please try to be as accurate as possible as you are likely to be using the same data when applying for your secondary school.

The future of schools like SST and NUSH will depend on their ability to attract talents who are passionate about math and science. Having 100% DSA enrollment for SST and NUSH can be both good and bad. The good is that the school gets to pick and choose, while the bad is that if there are fewer applicants, the overall intake standard may also drop. Hence it's not surprising for schools like SST and NUSH to go the extra mile to ensure as many COs are taken up as possible.

IMO, the prestige and reputation of the school are not judged purely on intake standards alone but also include the outcome of their education, eg high profile alumni, world ranking etc.

13 years is considered rather young because the first batch of students from 13 years ago, may yet to turn 30. So there will be fewer success stories to brag about. (In comparison to schools with over 100 years history where they have \"produced\" a few generations of high profile politicians, entrepreneurs, entertainers, sportsmen, surgeons, legal councils etc.
Now a bit hard to make decision for the SST. My DS got the CO from SST and he is good at math and Science as well. And SST is in the short distance from my home. However, now encouraged by others, my DS is more keen for those IP schools. As it is the first year for AL evaluation system, really hard to estimate the chance to be successful enrolled into those IP schools. As for SST, how about their O level score for their graduation cohort as there is little info to be found . Hope can get more info from SST .
